Saving Pakistan: An Approach?

Pakistan today faces a mortal danger. On this there is no doubt. I have pondered long over a solution and have come up with the following.

It will be tough, it will be hard, and the terrorists will strike our cities, kill our civilians. We must however endeavor to be strong, to stand tall in the face of radicalism guided by the knowledge that our choice is right, our cause just.

Briefly, if I may.

  1. Pakistan needs to raise a permanent, well armed INTERNAL security force, separate from the Army. Something like the SS, without the racism and hate, but well organized well armed etc. (Similar in that way)

This body, lets call it ISF, would be under the command of the Interior Ministry and Defence Ministry jointly (a joint commission of people from each). The PM would have a deciding vote.

This would serve as the basic force to tackle internal miscreants. As and when needed, it would be backed by the Army.

  1. The mullahs hold FATA and Swat, with a presence of followers in the cities, but essentially those areas are their fort. We should enact a PERIMETER DEFENSE. This means surround those areas, nothing gets in-nothing out. A ring system as deployed in WW2 around Moscow by the USSR.

With this in place, we could use a combined force of ISF, FC and the Army to gradually take and hold the territory, starting with Swat. Essentially, we can overwhelm them with numbers-and permanently hold it. These forces would stay in some numbers, like Indian troops in Kashmir.

Once Swat is safe, the same ring tactics can be deployed around FATA. Knowing that the remit here is merely to stop the idiots entering the settled areas. Pen them in.

  1. Enact a complete media blackout over troubled areas. The Army can then act with impunity. Will civilians die? Yes, tough. The state is the greatest good. Use any weapon short of nukes in our disposal. This means B/C weapons if needed.

Once the area is secure-the state can rebuild whats lost, it can then enact development to wean the locals of Islamism and build a civil wall against extremism.

Raise a force, perimeter and ring tactics against Swat (with key areas of all cities in Pakistan under guard during ops), with incremental recovery of land-until we have it all.

Media blackout to end the PR war. This means both external media and internal jammers etc.

Deserters ect would be shot Soviet style, and any person caught aiding, abetting the fools in the cities would be killed, their property taken by the state and their families taken in. Make it costly for them-Israel style.

The downside: sure we become a garrison state for a time, but who wouldnt accept an OTT state presence for security right now.

This ‘plan’ is drawn from my years of study of history, security studies and the campaigns of yesteryear. It is atleast a plan, a suggestion-which is more then is happening at the moment.

I would recommend infiltrating their areas of hold and using same tactics as they use on army blowing up vehicle, targeting them and getting out.
Strike fear in their hearts and limit their free movement

Power to the people, we need a revolution which leads to getting rid of 95% of the politicians.

Re: Saving Pakistan: An Approach?

Find the source of their weapons supply and put a GPS tracker in each weapon before sending to talibs and launch hellfire missiles in direction of the gps signal. Better yet, put a 1,000lb MK-84 on target.

Expensive, but could be effective if their weapons supply can be contaminated.

Re: Saving Pakistan: An Approach?

I recommend covering all areas held by them with biological agents.

How do you going to contaminate the biological agents in a specific area? In this scenario, civilians will die mostly and Taliban will get more sympathy.

Pakistan need a leader which can do miracles what Atatruk did in Turkey... that's the only option we have. Islami-phobia or extremsim is rooted already in the very foundation's of Pakistan society.

We need to move towards secularism as fast as we can, whoever came in the line: hang him !

I am all for your suggestions, actually a good news: PM announce two days ago, they are going to raise a specially trained force to fight terrorism.

But the ring-strategy only work when you have full backing of people behind you, which incase of Pakistan is not. Pakistan is density populated, its not like Russia or Europe which have 100 of miles of green land for fighting. Why Pak Army, US Army & Nato having problems, coz they have to fight for inch by inch, house by house.

Their is a reason why Pakistan authorities are crying about talk & fire, you can't win this war with just fire power. You kill one taliban .. and two will come up, we have to destroy them on idealogical basics first, then use fire power. Unfortunately all the media of Pakistan is busy in political maneuverability & scandals. Not a single anchor have time to get one extremist on live TV and put him with the bunch of Mullah's who can explain him that they are shyt of this world and whatever they are doing its wrong, its that easy !

Re: Saving Pakistan: An Approach?

Obviously ideological war on them is key, but so it asserting the writ of state.

The ring strategy can be deployed. Its essentially a blockade in reverse-nothing escapes. We will fight inch by inch, these mofos are ruining not only Pakistan but the reputation of our people globally.
