saving on utility bills

Re: saving on utility bills

Whatever you like to think. I think the thread title says it all. It's just about saving money right? Not changing our lifestyles a bit to consume less energy.

Re: saving on utility bills

Yes yes, nothing about the going green crap , its all about saving on mula ..

we dont live in a hippie world no more.

Re: saving on utility bills

  1. Limit cooking everyday
  2. Use an electric kettle if you drink chai 5 times a day
  3. Shut off the power of computer and electric devices at night
  4. Winterize your house for the season (windows, doors, excessive drafts)
  5. In the summer time, try to air dry your clothes instead of using the dryer
  6. Double spin your clothes cutting out drying time
  7. 10 minute showers
  8. install half/full flush options
  9. water your yard after checking rain forecast

Re: saving on utility bills

H1 counts man, H1 counts. H1 became civilian vehicle in early 90's. Just like Jeep, its as much of a civilian vehicle as Toyota Camry.

Re: saving on utility bills

I’m down with the H1. Anything based off something that is used in a battlefield and that can run in the desert/crazy trails is good for me. I’ve had a few runs in a mid 90’s H1 and boy they’re so much fun when you’re pushing them in the dunes. The only Hummer that matters. :hehe:

Re: saving on utility bills

I do agree though that GM ruined the Hummer brand ..H2 was somewhat ok but H3 sucked.

Re: saving on utility bills

The H3 was just trying to pander to the small-SUV market. FAIL.

Re: saving on utility bills

You two are talking about Hummers like you have Hummeroon ka astabal. :@:

Re: saving on utility bills

^ we will talk to you after you park your corolla on the side.

Re: saving on utility bills

My shiny new corolla is only 15 years old. :snooty:
Aik shahansha nay khareed k Hummer mujh ghareeb key corolla ka uraya hay mazaq. :naak:

Re: saving on utility bills

Heh, Hummer isn’t a premium brand; just another SUV so its not a big deal :hehe:

Re: saving on utility bills

My parents (father especially) just has one rule for savings on utilities: turn everything OFF and keep it OFF. :mad2:

Re: saving on utility bills

Not really.

Re: saving on utility bills

  1. Move to a city/country where the utliity bills are included wiht rent price :o

  2. my husband says that it takes mroe energy to turn on and off an air conditioner...so if we turn it on, leave it on for up to 2 hours.

Re: saving on utility bills

We've got one of those electricity monitors that British Gas sent us as a freebie. It certainly opened our eyes to how much all the appliances use.So whereas before we were careful, now I am totally focussed on this.I keep checking to see how much we are consuming, and let me tell you our bill has reduced drastically.

And we have energy reducing bulbs all over our house and they light up just fine...
