Saving a DVD on to my Comp

Salam guys,

I need your help once again.

I want to save a DVD onto my computer, edit it and save clips as MP3 (or any computer compatible) file that can be sent via e-mail to others.

I downloaded a program which allows me to view the DVD in Windows Media, but I can’t actually save the contents of the DVD onto my computer.

Where and how can I do this?

To make backups of DVD’s you can use DVD Shrink or DVD Encrypter. I’ve personally used DVD Shrink which lets you mark portions of the DVD to make copies of and then you can create an iso which can then be sent to others who can either burn it back to DVD or use DaemonTools or some other mounting software and view the contents.

Or you can use one of those utilities (DVD2Avi) to convert the DVD to avi or some other format and then use editing software to extract sections of the movie.

wesse jahan takk hamai ilm hai, ye ghair qanooni baat hai, yani aap DVD ke naqal nahe bana saktai qanooni tour pur. pur agar bana he hai tu ISO image bana kur bhi mahfooz kiya ja sakta hai, agar apke hard disk mai jagah ho. isska faida ye hai kai agar aap baad mai apni khalee DVD mai naqal karna chahain tu maayaaar mai farq nahe aay ga. uskai ilawa jahan takk ISO image se film dekhnai ka taluk hai uskai liya VIRTUAL DRIVE ko istemaal karain. hamarai khayal mai baqaee mahaireen samajh gai hon gai hum kiya kehna chah rhai hain.

Sahil ustaad, you just wrote the same thing I wrote in Urdu.
And to clarify, its not illegal to copy all DVD's. For example if I have a home made DVD of a wedding and I want to make copies or backup, or extract out chunks I have every right to do so.
