Gina, I've heard that often times back pain can be alleviated by simply changing your mattress and pillow. There are some good quality mattresses (Sleep Number, Serta, etc) that are designed to prevent backaches because they adjust to your body. And I also think there are special cushions that you can place on your chair to help you with this.
Sharp, painful and constantly there! An aunty asked me to sleep on the floor on a very thin mattress I even did that.. i'm giving it one more day to behave.
yeah do that. Lie on your back. Put a pillow under your calves too.
If you can do little stretching with out feeling pain that could be helpful.
When you lie down hold your knew against you tummy...whole holding your shinbone.
So one leg totally bent and pressed against stomach...hold for 20 sec.
Do it with other leg too.
Also do that... remember no more then 20 sec each side. may be twice or 3times a day
At this point worst thing you could to your self is dieting.
Tired muscle needs protein for reconstruction of tissues.
If you deprive them from protein. Its gonna result more pain while you sit and wait.
And verrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyy slow recovery.
Once you relax a Little : do some light back/stomach work out. You don't want to keep muscle inactive(semi) for too long. They can get weaker.
Losing weight?? leave it for later.(If you have to!)
I had a horrible back prob few years ago that was due to my laptop bag and posture. I got relief only by physiotherapy. I guess since you have a hectic routine you should consider having a few physio sessions, calms like anything. If it's chronic home remedies might not be very helpful.
