Agreed. First of all the ball never touched the bat, and secondly, the ball touched the ground before Gangualy caught it and he was appealing like he had made a brilliant catch:rolleyes:
That's a pathetic and childish attempt expecially from the captain of an International side, he is supposed to lead by example.
haha that was sneaky and lame. :D
That was one of the lowest moments of professional cricket....and to make it worse he does it to Gilchrist who had just earlier redefined the concept of sportsmanship. I loved what Gilly told him after the replay "This game would be a lot easier without the cameras wouldnt it?" and all the tellu could muster in reply was a sleazy smile.
I was amazed the umpire didn't even move. I myself thought it was out. good umpiring.
Come on guys, we are talking about Ganguly here...

Sneaky? I guess the umpire must not have seen the ball first touch the pad, and then bounce before going into Ganguly's hands... Very sneaky indeed, infact im underestimating the sneakiness.
That was very very bad display by Ganguly.
As a captain, he should have the responsibilty to lead, especially being in a World Cup Final.
Obviously Harbajan bowled towards the leg, which hit his thigh pad and carried to 1st slip, just falling short.
At that point Ganguly jumped with joy as if he had caught the ball, then later the camera was on him with a big grin laughing.
Like.. what was the point of that Ganguly?
Hayden said some words of opinion to Ganguly right after he had caught it. The commentators said something like "Only in your mind is that a catch, but in real life it's not". Sorry don't remember, but it was something like that.
Yeah not a good sportsman spirit shown by him
I think it was desperation more then anything. Aussies were hammering them all over the place and I think Ganguly got carried away in his desperation for get a wicket. Nevertheless it wasnt a great display of sportsmanship.
