Saudis want more Pakistani troops in KSA to save them from ISIS

Re: Saudis want more Pakistani troops in KSA to save them from ISIS

Firstly we aren’t diverting combat troops. There is no mention of that at all. Secondly we all know that when a force is engaged in military operations you do not commit your entire force to that one battlefront.

You rotate troops in and out. You do this as low as company strength if need be. The US did that in Afghanistan. The US troops in Farah would change every 9 months.

In this case we do not know how many companies or battalions are being requested. More so, Pakistan still has more troops stationed on its border with India than fighting terrorism in Pakistan.

Missing a company or two won’t affect the operation or its activities. Specifically since we have tribal forces supporting Pakistani troops. At best it would be mean a quicker rotation of troops in to combat and out of combat.

Secondly we are not diverting attention as the US has troops in Saudi Arabia and in case of an attack they would take lead of any response as per US law. In that regard Pakistan troops and Command structure would be managed by Saudi Central command and in that regard US command.

We will not control CENTCOM in Saudi. The Saudi’s or American’s will.
