There was an attempt at least to remove the dome of the prophet before but the caliphate upon hearing the pros and cons ultimately decided to keep the dome for the sake of Muslim harmony.
If they continue this then even if their reasons are valid Muslim harmony is not on the forefront of their minds.

they have destroyed so much history in madina and mecca by destroying pretty much every ancient home and old building.......and now they want to move prophet's body to an anonymous grave? so that they can justify their sect....we will not allow them to do this....period

If I remember it correctly, prophet(saw) passed away in aisha(ra) room/quarter, And it was decided to make that
burial place since, prophets were supposed to burred at the place where they passed away.

Relocate Saudis somewhere and make the entire area of holy sites under OIC or something like that which is non political.

This is bound to happen some day. Saudis are not particularly fond of mazars, they consider them places for shirk. During the past few years they have prepared the rest of the Muslim world with the help of their proxies who are destroying them in various islamic countries.
