I have lived in the Gulf for 4 years and have interacted with a lot of those “migrant workers”. The only thing that keeps them in the Gulf is the money and even that is sometimes not given to them on time. Other than that they live under deplorable conditions, have to work on constructions sites in incredible heat for inhumane 16-hour-shifts and have no social life apart from work and sleep. It’s not like they are getting “free rent and free food” for nothing. These guys are physical wrecks after 3 to 4 years of doing this kind of work.

I am not a supporter of the kings and monarchs who i dispise because how they allowed iraq to be destroyed by the United States. Also there double standards on many issues.

However i have also been gulf many times because of business and i have also interacted with these migrant workers and if you compare pakistan or india working conditions you cannot compare. Yes they work very hard, because the local arabs cannot handle such work. The workers get paid 4 or 5 times what they would in pakistan/india and they live in free rent majority of them and free food for many of them again.

Yes some have had been abused but what percentage are we talking here a minority in my opinion.
