I have lived in the Gulf for 4 years and have interacted with a lot of those “migrant workers”. The only thing that keeps them in the Gulf is the money and even that is sometimes not given to them on time. Other than that they live under deplorable conditions, have to work on constructions sites in incredible heat for inhumane 16-hour-shifts and have no social life apart from work and sleep. It’s not like they are getting “free rent and free food” for nothing. These guys are physical wrecks after 3 to 4 years of doing this kind of work.

Yeah, the workers seem to be nothing more then mules. They live to serve the welfare of the Arab natives.

Although I have heard the situation in Dubai has improved slightly.
