Saudi says Pakistan wants to join fight against Yemen rebels

Pakistan must stay out of this conflict & let Saudis and other oil kingdoms deal with it.

Saudi says Pakistan wants to join fight against Yemen rebels - The Express Tribune

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia said Thursday that five Muslim countries including Egypt and Pakistan want to participate in the Gulf-led military coalition against Huthi rebels who have seized large swathes of Yemen.

Together with Jordan, Morocco and Sudan, they have “expressed desire to participate in the operation” against the rebels, which the kingdom dubbed “Firmness Storm”, Saudi SPA state news agency said.

Saudi Arabia and four other Gulf states, including Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, announced earlier a decision to “answer the call of President Hadi to protect Yemen and his people from the aggression of the Huthi militia.”

The kingdom’s ambassador to the United States announced from Washington that a coalition of 10 countries, including the five Gulf monarchies, had been set up to protect the Yemeni government.

Adel al-Jubeir did not name other members of the coalition.

The United States said it would provide “logistical and intelligence support” to the operation.

Saudi-owned al-Arabiya news channel said the UAE sent 30 jet fighters to Saudi Arabia to take part in the air strikes, while Jordan will be participating with six aircraft.

The channel also said that Egypt and Pakistan would dispatch jet fighters and warships to take part in the campaign.

Yemeni President Abedrabbo Mansour Hadi had urged Arab countries to intervene militarily as anti-government forces closed in on the southern city of Aden, where he had taken refuge.

Yemen has been gripped by growing turmoil since the Huthi rebels overran the capital Sanaa in September.

Re: Saudi says Pakistan wants to join fight against Yemen rebels

Do pakistan have a option?

During Nawaz times, its saudia we can not refuse, during zardari its iran. *Jis ka jo khata hay ussi kay un gata hay

*Although i agree that we should let irani and saudis fight and not intervene as this will have adverse impact in our country as well.

Re: Saudi says Pakistan wants to join fight against Yemen rebels

if Saudis got destabilise because of Yemen and ISIS.. then i guess Pakistan army should move and Seize control of the Hijaz Province along with port of Jeddah.. and should secure and take control the administration and day-to-day management of the holiest places of Makkah and Madina.. and let the Saudi focus on the war on both fronts…

For Saudi… pl’ay nayee Tay’la, kerdi mela mela

2 fouji seedhay khaRay nahi ho saktay aur pangay dekkho

PS: since saudies would be busy fighting, we can manage and take control of the oil fields as well…

And the USA says in your dreams.

well we can have a kind of agreement… after all we need their technology to pump the oil out… so it can be 80-20… partnership

They will appoint their puppet to handle oil.

On serious note, for Arabs oil has been kind of curse. If any other country was blessed with so much natural resource they could have done so much, yet these people are still stuck in 12th century and busy in tribal warfare.

Re: Saudi says Pakistan wants to join fight against Yemen rebels

[quote=“Shamraz_Khan”]

i agree here, they have done nothing in name of development, apart from buying expensive cars and making useless buildings which cannot run without western technical support… their people are the laziest and most dumb on this planet.. they could have learned to develop their own resources but the Puppet installed to control the oil wealth (as you have rightly said) was not instructed to make any universities or technical development… the main interests of arabs like 2000 years ago were

  1. Sitting and chatting
  2. mating women
  3. tribal wars
  4. cruelty
**5) having finest horse and camel in their possession
    **

after 2000 years today arabs

  1. sitting and chatting
  2. mating women
  3. tribal enmity
  4. cruelty**
  5. having finest and most expensive car/vehicle
    **

that is the only development they had in last 2000 years

Re: Saudi says Pakistan wants to join fight against Yemen rebels

Lets see what happens. A few weeks ago you all said the Pakistani Government would bow down to put troops in Saudi Arabia. We did not.

Most of you were wrong then.

Lets see how this plays out. Taking action against the Houthis would be a mistake for reasons that obvious. And I don’t think the Pak Army wants to be involved in a full fledged operation after they haven’t completed operation Khyber 2.

Re: Saudi says Pakistan wants to join fight against Yemen rebels

I do not believe this Saudi statement

Re: Saudi says Pakistan wants to join fight against Yemen rebels

Even if Pakistan says no now, eventually they will have to pick a side in the upcoming conflict between Iran & Saudi. I feel there will be some sort of alliance/understanding between ISIS and Saudi to counter Iran. Hard to imagine now, but as they say, politics make strange bedfellows; ISIS and Saudis are not actually strangers to each other. If ISIS gets a foothold in Afghanistan, I don’t see a way Pakistan can stay on the sidelines.

Re: Saudi says Pakistan wants to join fight against Yemen rebels

i hope the policy makers would have done their calculations, seeing what this sectarian warfare has done to the Middle East and if we are immune from the fallout…

Re: Saudi says Pakistan wants to join fight against Yemen rebels

interestingly a few days ago it was being portrayed as pakistan’s help was needed for Isis, it was houtis after all.

Pakistan should have a firm policy to stay out of this AND all other conflicts as well. Lets just fix yr own sh!t first and then at some later stage think about other stuff.

Re: Saudi says Pakistan wants to join fight against Yemen rebels

At no stage we should interfere in others matters

Twelve of the victims died when a raid against a military base north of the capital Sanaa hit surrounding residential areas, officials from the rebel-controlled ministry told.

Witnesses said warplanes targeted Al Samaa base, which is used by army units believed to take orders from their former commander Ahmed Ali Saleh.
Saleh is the son of ousted president Ali Abdullah Saleh, who is accused of allying with the Huthi rebels against President Abedrabbo Mansour Hadi. At dawn on Friday, three air strikes hit the presidential compound in south Sanaa which the rebels seized last month, witnesses said.
They also bombed a Huthi-controlled army brigade in Amran province, north of the capital, and arms depots in the rebel stronghold of Saada further north, residents said.
Overnight raids targeted another army brigade loyal to Saleh in the eastern province of Marib, tribal sources said.
A military official told that on Thursday Saudi-led coalition jets also bombed a large arms depot in a third army camp used by forces loyal to the former strongman.
The official spoke of “dozens” of casualties at the camp, located in Sanaa’s southern outskirts, but the information could not be independently verified.
In central Sanaa, an anti-aircraft missile wounded eight people, one of them seriously, when it exploded in a market on Friday, a day after it was fired by Huthi fighters, a security official said.

According to residents, dozens of vehicles carrying anti-aircraft missiles have been continuously circling the capital’s neighborhoods since the Saudi-led raids began.

The biggest terror sponsor, the terror breeder, the cause of all the nahoosat in Muslim lands isn’t US. Or Israel.

Its the Saudis.

Re: Saudi says Pakistan wants to join fight against Yemen rebels

Why its no rocket science to decide we better stay out of this picture!!

Re: Saudi says Pakistan wants to join fight against Yemen rebels

LMAO! That is brilliant.

Re: Saudi says Pakistan wants to join fight against Yemen rebels

Pakistan army would seriously lose every bit of respect if it gets involved in this war. You are in the middle of concluding a long and vicious within border war, yet for some reason, you have the audacity to get involved into another one. How dare they even thinking about something like this?

FFS. Get you acts together and learn from your bloody mistakes.
