Saudi Prince allowed to hunt endangered bird despite Court order.(merged)

Seriously? I wonder how long will we remain Saudi’s b!tches.

Houbara bustard is a bird thats still considered precious and for years Saudi princes come over to hunt in Pakistan resulting it to go endangered to survive the entire species. Therefore its declared internationally protected.

Last year that was a huge noise when Saudi Prince Fahd bin Sultan bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud hunted over 2100 bustards, approx 100 birds a day (Arab royal hunts down 2,100 houbara bustards in three week safari - Pakistan - DAWN.COM)
Once again, the prince is ready to visit and Pakistani authorities are ready to hand over the land and let them do wutever they want. Its totally insane.

****QUETTA: Pakistani authorities are finalising arrangements for a Saudi prince to visit Balochistan to hunt the Houbara bustard, a bird supposedly protected by law, officials said Monday.
An advance party has already reached the Yak Much desert in Balochistan along with falcons which will be used to catch the bustard, officials said.
Saudi Prince Fahd bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz is expected to join the group in coming days. He led a hunting party to Balochistan last year that officials said killed more than 2,000 bustards.
The birds are listed as “vulnerable” and declining in numbers by the International Union for Conservation of Nature’s “Red List” of threatened species. Hunting them is banned in Pakistan.
But authorities issue special permits to wealthy visitors from Arab countries. Permit holders are in theory restricted to hunting a maximum of 100 of the protected birds over 10 days, but only in certain areas.
Saifullah Zehri, district forest officer for wildlife in Chagai district of which Yak Much is a part, told AFP the advance party arrived on Sunday in a C-130 transport plane.
“They were fully equiped and had all the material which is required for bird hunting,” Zehri said.
Arab sheikhs are known as enthusiastic hunters, travelling to Pakistan each year to hunt the bird using the traditional Arabian method. They arrive by private jets from the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.

According to conservative estimates, between 500,000 and a million birds of all species migrate through Pakistan each year — flying south from Siberia to pass the winter in Central and South Asia.

Re: Saudi Prince allowed to hunt endangered bird despite Court order...

seems we are still living in colonial area. only Masters have changed. First it was official colony of one Master and now we got so many Masters.

Re: Saudi Prince allowed to hunt endangered bird despite Court order…

There is a huge difference between colonial era and the present. In the past, we were oppressed by a sovereign state. In the present, despite being free and independent, these idiots care more about getting money in their pocket and basically being a b**** rather than doing their job and helping the very people that they are sworn to protect. In other words, in the past one didn’t exactly have much choice but today, they are choosing to be the lapdogs. :disgust:

QUETTA: Adviser to the Chief Minister Balochistan on Forest and Wild Life, Obaidullah Jan Babat on Friday claimed that members of Arab royal families were visiting the province to review development projects, and not to hunt the endangered houbara bustard.
“They are visiting development sites in Dalbandin, they are not hunting,” the adviser claimed when asked about the arrival of Governor Tabuk, Prince Fahad Bin Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz.
“We will never violate the court’s order,” Babat said, referring to an earlier decision by a division bench of the Balochistan High Court that had banned the hunting of houbara bustards in the province and ordered the cancellation of all permits issued for the purpose.

A local resident who declined to be named refuted the adviser’s claims, stating that the Arab royal family members has gone straight to a location 35km outside of Dalbandin to hunt the endangered birds.
“It is Houbara hunting season," the resident said, adding that the Arabs were not visiting development sites.
Dawn had earlier uncovered that the Balochistan government has issued 28 allotments to Arab royal families and ministers across the province for hunting of endangered Houbara species. However, the BHC had cancelled all allotments made by the provincial government to royal Arab families last year on Nov 23.
“We have challenged the BHC’s order for cancellation of allotments,” a senior officer of the Balochistan government, who requested anonymity, had told Dawn.

Babat has stated that under Wild Life Act Balochistan, 2014, the provincial government had the power to allot specific areas to foreigners for a limited period.
“We have constitutional power of allotment,” the adviser said.

Re: Saudi Prince allowed to hunt endangered bird despite Court order.(merged)

How is the Govt. (past or present) going to enforce laws on others when they themselves break laws without any remorse?

Re: Saudi Prince allowed to hunt endangered bird despite Court order…

Ministers have no say in this whatsoever. This is a direct favor from the Sharifs to the royals. There is no other way to override a court ban.
In the meantime, in UAE…
Hamdan Bin Zayed releases 80 houbara bustards as part of resettlement programme.
Pakistan is just an easy killing ground for them…whether its houbaras or humans
