Are the US plans for building an international coalition rapidly getting into disarray? Saudis are the ultimate golden boys of US, and a “moderate” islamic state (translation: US kay chamchay).

Mainly misinformation...not disinformation.
Saudi Arabia disallowed the use of its military bases and air bases the very first day....that has been disallowed since the end of the Gulf war. Even the occasional air strikes on Iraq are launched either from Kuwait or Turkey...never from Saudi Arabia.
The US never really needed saudi bases for a potential strike on Afghanistan. What it needed, however, was a recently completed Command and Control Center, equipped with the latest communications equipment, which the USA constructed and completed at the Prince Saud(?) Air Base in Riyadh just a year or so ago. Now that command center will allow the US to control the movements of hundreds of planes at a time...across the region, whether they fly from the sea, or from elsewhere. In the absence of that C&C center, the US would have had to make several makeshift C&C centers in different places, since a quickly constructed C&C center would not have allowed them to control more than 10-15 aircraft and vessels at a time.
Saudi Arabia is trying to 'fool' its people. Saudia has told its people, and the USA, that it will not allow the use of its airbases. ANd that has quieted down the saudi people. But Saudia has allowed the US the use of that C&C center. Now the saudi people dont know the value of that C&C...a very small percentage, if any...which is why there is no backlash from the public.
