Re: Saudi Arabia to provide $100 million flood relief aid to Pakistan
It’s shameful of many of Pakistanis to not mention American aid which has been proven to be lifeline for Pakistan for many years. That’s all.
I thought I should mention this obvious fact that there is NO discussion about American aid to Pakistan.
And this news about Saudi aid comes from one Arab source which is to be delivered sometime in future (when?), while internet is FILLED with US aid efforts for floods from multiple sources continuing RIGHT NOW.
Just like America, Saudi aid is also for Saudi’s own interests, and not for the love of Pakistani people. So why this ‘ji-huzoor’, ‘shukriyah’, ‘wah wah’, ‘aap ne bacha liya’, to one country but not other?
Re: Saudi Arabia to provide $100 million flood relief aid to Pakistan

Re: Saudi Arabia to provide $100 million flood relief aid to Pakistan
JazakAllah to Saudi Arabia.
The sad part is, we will forget this donation by KSA just like we forgot their previous donations and all we will speak of is how they don't let women drive rolleyes ... Allah he haafiz hai saada!

Saudi Arabia continues Air Bridge of relief goods
Diplomatic Focus
Dr. Jassim Taqui Deputy Editor (IR)
Saudi Arabia is watching very closely the floods in various parts of Pakistan and would continue sending relief goods to the flood affectees, said the Saudi envoy Mr. Abdul Aziz Al-Ghadeer at a dinner party hosted in his residence on honour of the visiting Saudi Development Fund . Al-Ghadeer said that the government and people of Saudi Arabia are very concerned on the flood situation and would always support the brotherly people of Pakistan to alleviate the suffering of the affectees of the flood.
The delegation comprised Engineer Abdullah Al-Shiaibi, Engineer Mohammad Al-Masood and Mamoon Mohsin. Speaking with Pakistan Observer, Mohsim said that Saudi Arabia would aid 560,000 affectees. He disclosed that Saudi Arabia would soon announce more aid to the victims of the flood in addition to the continued Air Bridge, which continues unabated as per instruction of the Custodian of Haramain Sharifain His Majesty Kingd Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud.
Among the people present in the function was the Ambassador of Pakistan to Saudi Arabia Mr. Umar Khan Alisherzai who commended the role played by Saudi Arabia in helping flood-hit areas of Pakistan. Alisherzai said he held meetings with the Interior Minister Mr. Naif bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud that stretched for over two hours each and found him very responsive person. He described the bilateral relations as excellent and said that the governments and people of Saudi Arabia and Pakistan had stood together in difficult times in the past. He expected that the Saudi government would contribute massively both in rescue and rehabilitation efforts in the flood-affected areas.
Gen. Nadeem Ahmed, chairman of National Disaster Management authority (NDMA) was also present. He paid rich tribute to the Saudi leadership especially King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud for his keen interest and personal instructions to the Saudi authorities concerned to rescue million of stranded Pakistanis in flood-hit areas. According to him over 12 million people have been affected by the flood while other reports speak of 15 million affectees.
The Saudis have announced $ 100 million donation to the IDPs in addition to continuous relieve supplies for the victims of the flood. Cargo planes from Saudi Royal Air Forces are landing in Islamabad, Peshawar and Quetta daily bringing tents, food and medical supplies to the affectees. Thus far, Saudi Arabia is the leading nation in supporting the victims of the flood. The Saudis are repeating their role they played in 2005 earthquake. Even now, the Saudis are helping building the destroyed infrastructure in KP and the rehabilitation of the survivors of the earthquake.

Whatever...atleast they are helping unlike our pathetic president who only cares for his iyashee and is now planning another trip to Russia.
Re: Saudi Arabia to provide $100 million flood relief aid to Pakistan
:k:
The people who’re posting these kinda comments are not affected by the flood in any way… they’re most likely sitting in their homes safe n sound.. And therefore they have too much time to think of all this crap.
Be grateful, people. Say thanks. Try it. Its not that hard.
Re: Saudi Arabia to provide $100 million flood relief aid to Pakistan
Well, this “people” did not say anything about stopping the aid from Saudis. Did he?
Point is that Pakistanis have no thank you for America which is providing the real aid to Pakistanis. The aid which is being hugely reported in all sections of media, and which is prominent and obvious. They are even sending a prominent senator to see in what areas this aid is required. This shows how real this aid is. But no thank you note for this aid.
On the other hand, we have a special thread for a “promise” of aid from Saudis, which is NOT being reported by any sources except a few, especially Arab sources. And this promise of aid has NO details attached as to HOW they are going to send this $100m aid to Pak.
Re: Saudi Arabia to provide $100 million flood relief aid to Pakistan
Whatever...atleast they are helping
That's the point. If there are 'shukriyah/nawazish'-notes for Saudis then why not for Americans as well?
Neither Saudis nor Americans are doing it only out of love of Pakistani people.
Up to this point, this announcement of aid from Saudis look nothing more than a PR stunt to me. They came up with this "announcement" only because media had started criticizing lack of help from Saudis. But like I said above, there are not details attached to it.

Re: Saudi Arabia to provide $100 million flood relief aid to Pakistan
I did not say that I wish to see a thread about 'thank-you' to American aid. I am saying that if there is no thread about the genuine American aid then there should not have been a thread about the merely promised Saudi aid either.
Like I said above, this single announcement looks like a PR stunt to me, after Saudis were criticized for showing their lack of interest in Pakistan's worst disaster in its history after 1947.
Re: Saudi Arabia to provide $100 million flood relief aid to Pakistan
finally some "brother" Islamic country came forward.
Saudi Arabia started it's airlift of supplies in less than a week of the first floods happening, on 4th August and daily flights have been landing at Pakistani cities since. Over a dozen flights have now now arrived from Saudi Arabia with relief supplies for the flood victims.
Re: Saudi Arabia to provide $100 million flood relief aid to Pakistan
You are talking about yourself. It's the sectarian bias which causes most Pakistanis to start ji-huzoori and nawazish-karam of Saudis all the time.
Just like in this case where there is a mere mention of potential aid from Saudis and people start praising Saudis.
I just want to keep the record straight. American aid to Pakistan is ten-folds larger than Saudis or any other country in the world, including China.
As we all know, any country who helps in huge sums of money does not do it out of sheer love of people. They always have other motives involved. So we should not take for granted any help given by any country, be it America, China, or Saudi. They all want something in return from Pakistan. So if we really want to thank someone for the help then America should be the first country for it.
Where do you see sectarian bias in this analysis? This is plain geo-politics.
Re: Saudi Arabia to provide $100 million flood relief aid to Pakistan
LOL, most Pakistanis are Hanafis, not wahabis, so they dont share any sect with Saudis. As for US vs Saudi aid, read this article, may be you would undersand something.
Re: Saudi Arabia to provide $100 million flood relief aid to Pakistan
they are too busy abusing their Indonesian/malaysian maids in the house and exploiting the Pakistani, Bengali, etc labor/rafeeqs outside the house. they don’t have time for this stuff.
but just you wait until Israel goes after Lebanon or Palestine, Qazi Hussain Ahmed is going get so mad, he’s going to be marching up and down Pakistan whining about the ummah. and then, we’re going to invite all kinds of arabs on tv and ask them what we can do to alleviate their suffering. well I say fk them. as far as I’m concerned, all these camel humpers should be bombed into oblivion by Israel. I’m not going to shed a tear.
if the response by arab countries apart from saudi arabia isn’t a slap on the face and a wakeup call, I don’t know what is. wake the fk up. there is no ummah. so, stop crying for Afghanistan, Palestine, etc. stop crying for taliban. worry about yourself. to them we’re hindi/rafeeqs - good only for cheap labor.
and finally, since Saudi Arabia is sending us lowly rafeeqs their aid, how many more of their terrorists/hatemongers do we have to allow into Pakistan?
Re: Saudi Arabia to provide $100 million flood relief aid to Pakistan
Sects don’t matter, it is the ideology that is the problem.
All this problem of Talibanic kharijism has its base in Saudi inculcation of radical mindset which started in Zia’s era.
BUT that is not the point I am trying to make here. The point is about Pakistanis go heads over heels when it comes to a potential aid from Saudis, but stay tight-lipped when it is Americans who are actually delivering it to the affected people.
You being a Taliban supporter, I don’t expect you to agree with Talibanic kharijism having its roots in Saudi backing. But many other Pakistanis who understand Talibanic mindset to be the enemy of Pakistan will agree with it. It does not matter what sect or religion they belong to.
You should not expect me to read your links. If there is a point to be made then let you be the one to make it.
