Saudi Arabia to launch 23 satellites

Launching 6 Saudi satellites
April 17, 2007

RIYADH – King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) has announced launching 6 Saudi satellites and successfully setting them on their orbits by using a Russian-Ukraine missile from Bikanor Base in Kazakhstan.

Dr Turki Bin Saud Mohammed Al-Saud, the vice-president of KACST for the research institutes, said the launching of the satellites constitutes an important development.

Prince Turki noted that a Saudi team working at the institute of space research at KACST had undertaken the preparation and testing of the satellites and all required work in this respect.

Prince Turki pointed out that the launching operation was scheduled to take place on March 27, 2007, but it was postponed for technical reasons.

Prince Turki said Saudi Arabia has for the time being 12 satellites in the space.

Re: Saudi Arabia to launch 23 satellites

I can’t find saudi satellites.. :konfused:

Re: Saudi Arabia to launch 23 satellites

Saudi satellites for finding what the hot chick [or hot guy[!]] is upto? Turki will be dying to get a peek of Pamela Handerson sunbathing in her beachside condo!

Re: Saudi Arabia to launch 23 satellites

^^ HA!

Re: Saudi Arabia to launch 23 satellites

this will serve KSA same as its fleet of fighter planes and heavey weaponary from US on the ground with no use what so ever. while the fatso army stays on medical leave most the time :)

Re: Saudi Arabia to launch 23 satellites

and this is in pakistan affairs because?....

Re: Saudi Arabia to launch 23 satellites

.. Becauses "pakis" worship the soodees!! :p

Re: Saudi Arabia to launch 23 satellites

...because some guppies think everything related to muslim countries somehow links pakistan affairs ;) its should be in world affairs

Re: Saudi Arabia to launch 23 satellites

i don't care what the quote says. there's no way the saudi's know how to build a satellite. they can't build a flash light

Re: Saudi Arabia to launch 23 satellites

^^ true that

Re: Saudi Arabia to launch 23 satellites

and we talk only pakistan's affairs because?

Re: Saudi Arabia to launch 23 satellites

its highly unlikely that pakistan will be denied any information captured by these satellites. the friendship between pakistan and saudi is very strong

infact i'd be suprised if there was no pak military gadgets onboard these satellites

Re: Saudi Arabia to launch 23 satellites

ya right

these satellites will be launched by russia

they were build with american help

like hell will russia and america allow saudis give info from these satellites to pakistan

Re: Saudi Arabia to launch 23 satellites

:D

what are you saying about the foreign policy of the americans and russians. so aggressive, are they in their right mind!

if saudi is allowed independent satellites of their own, pakistan will have access to these.

Re: Saudi Arabia to launch 23 satellites

saudis have access to state of the art american weaponry

but that doesnt mean that pakistan also has access to it as well

for example, saudis are going to buy 75 Euro Fighters

Do you think England is going to allow Pakistani Pilots to take them for a spin?

Re: Saudi Arabia to launch 23 satellites

Abbay, the soodees are a western puppet regime. After all, they came on the helm at the ashes of the ottomon empire through british games in the middle east.

Re: Saudi Arabia to launch 23 satellites

^and so is pakistan supposedly.

pak and saud have been joined by the hip since 1998, possibly prior too.

the saudi objective:

In 2003, a leaked strategy paper laid out three possible options for the Saudi government - to acquire a nuclear deterrent, to ally with and become protected by an existing nuclear nation, or to try and reach agreement on having a nuclear-free Middle East. UN officials and weapon specialists have suggested this review was prompted by a distancing of relations with the US, concerns over Iran’s nuclear program, and the lack of international pressure on Israel to give up its nuclear weapons.[1]](Nuclear program of Saudi Arabia - Wikipedia)

the means:

Saudi Arabia and Pakistan’s nuclear program
It has been rumoured that Pakistan has transferred several nuclear weapons to Saudi Arabia, but this is unconfirmed.[3]](Nuclear program of Saudi Arabia - Wikipedia)
Also, in 2003 it was reported that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia had entered a secret agreement on “nuclear cooperation” providing Saudi Arabia with nuclear weapons technology in return for access to cheap oil for pakistan.[4]](Nuclear program of Saudi Arabia - Wikipedia)
In March 2006, the German magazine Cicero reported that Saudi Arabia had since 2003 received assistance from Pakistan to acquire nuclear missiles and warheads. Satellite photos allegedly reveal an underground city and nuclear silos with Ghauri rockets in Al-Sulaiyil, south of the capital Riyadh.[5]](Nuclear program of Saudi Arabia - Wikipedia) Pakistan has denied aiding Saudi Arabia in any nuclear ambitions.[6]](Nuclear program of Saudi Arabia - Wikipedia)

shrieki can you honestly dismiss this as proof the satellite will be shared to some extent. saudis are proud of pak and will want to see it remain strong

Re: Saudi Arabia to launch 23 satellites

^^ The problem is that I doubt the soodees have the know-how to independently build a satellite. Judging by their recent actions, they rather buy political influence through throwing $$$ for british, american hardware unlike China or India that want TOT [though in china's case, they try to do chappa bazi as well].

If it is some european / US satellite that soodees will be "owning party", then you kiss any paki involvement goodbye !! Did you know that the soodees are so pathetic that they didn't even operate their own AWACs [do they now???] when they bought them in the eighties. Soodees probably had their flag painted on the plane while the americans only had the real access to it. Some say that americans trained for iraq [91 war] in those planes. It was a good thing for the israelis as I'm sure the soodee AWACs did pick them up on their way to Iraq and had the soodees really had control over their AWACs, it might have been different scenario today.

Re: Saudi Arabia to launch 23 satellites

your right saudi are very pathetic, but i think they will pass on info to pak. albeit with a good chance of info been filtered by ground controllers based in michigan:smack:

Re: Saudi Arabia to launch 23 satellites

I think the only rather quasi-independent move that they did was the "deferred payment" oil shipments, but then that was screwed because one of the gunja govt ministers spilled the beans to the americans after gunja got exiled. Gunja / BB seriously has no nationalism whatsoever but that is another topic for another thread.

Btw, doesn't Pakistan already own a working satellite???? I used to hear a lot about it that govt would allow private channels to the satellite [paki and non-paki] access to the communication slots? on the satellite..
