When are muslims going to realize that they have to change themselves first before they start pointing fingers at other. These Saudis have had a systematic racist policy under the guise of “SAUDIZATION”. Expatriates are treated like slaves. You only have to live in Saudi Arabia for a few weeks to realize that Pakistanis are regarded as animals. A Perfect Example.

Actually he is half-Syrian (mother), half-Yemeni (father), and was Saudi by birth. So he was a truly pan-Arab export.

The regiems of the Arab lands are terrible, but the general ppl have a feeling of brotherhood, that is why the Arab street differs so greately from its leadership.

Excellent thread, Wadi. :k: Is it true that in the majority of Arab countries, the manual labourers are foreigners predominantly from countries like Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka ? …The manner in which many Arab governments, not just Saudi Arabia’s, treats its expatriates is truly something to be ashamed of. Go through any Emirati newspaper and each week there is at least one or two articles regarding a Phillipino domestic maid who has been abused (sexually or otherwise) by her employee(s). And these are exclusively the cases that go reported - imagine what the actual rate of abuse must be.

Decades ago each Arab government should have implemented reforms to better the working conditions and status of its non-Arab populations. It is truly shameful that they have yet to do so.

Exactly Nadia, considering 80% of the population of UAE is either Pakistani/Indian. These nations are just concerned about losing their ‘arabness’ if they allow foreigners to become citizens.

Consider this. Pakistanis are called “rafiques” in Saudi Arabia, now this means ‘friend’ in Arabic, but it’s meant as a derogatory racial term. So Pakistanis are called “poor buggers” or “Rafiques” and expatriates from western nations are called “siddque”. Why the difference?? You tell me.
