Re: Saudi Arabia – A Free Nation
I think the government of SA should be over thrown..establish the khalifah system...get rid of the barbaric ancient laws..from the cities etc...but the current laws around Mecca area should stay INTACT.

Re: Saudi Arabia – A Free Nation
PD. americans went against the UN and still invaded iraq, illegally. the abuse of prisoners still happened. there are speculations about war crimes being commited by americans. millions around the world even in america itself protested against it. it was the largest protest in the history of the world.
if they flew planes into buildings, bombed trains and blew up pizza parlors, americans bombed the entire country and nuked cities as well.
both the nations are idiots and both are in the egoistic war of trying to prove themselves to be superior than the other. like i said.. its the same **** sugarcoated in political BS.
both the leaders sit in their mansion like whitehouse and villas giving out stupid orders and when or if it will be over.. both of them will still be sitting there while its the ordinary citizen/subjects/people that will have to suffer the consequences of it.

Re: Saudi Arabia – A Free Nation
Khawateen, did you hear the news about 25 young girls burnt to death in a Saudi School (the school was in Saudi Arabia, that’s why it is called Saudi School - if it were in Germany, it will be called German school, and so forth)? Did you know that religious police didn’t let girls escape the fire and that's what resulted in their death?
You are wrong about traveling alone. A woman must be accompanied by a male relative (or owner, in case of maids) to travel in Saudi Arabia.
CM, Where did you learn this stuff about Saudi Arabia? What compounds are you talking about? Hindu and Sikh labors who live in labor camps aren’t allowed even to have pictures or icons of their gods. The icons or pictures are confiscated at the airport.
Re: Saudi Arabia – A Free Nation
Yeah...thats why there are thousands of americans living there, earning tax free income....
Its the freeiest country in the world to exploit.....
Re: Saudi Arabia – A Free Nation
^ Don’t worry, there will be more once we are done with Iraq. At the moment Iraq is a bigger priority.
Re: Saudi Arabia – A Free Nation
Madhanee ji: so does that mean im lying bout travellin alone all the time?? ask someone else this question.. u'll get the same answer. if u're talking bout SAUDI women, then there may be an issue.. again.. it has nothing to do with laws of the country.. BUT with laws of the womens household...
its amazing how much ppl cry over how foreigners are treated (especially women).. i mean live with a saudi woman for one day and u'll see that she is in a much much much more horrible condition in her OWN country rather than us privileged foreign women...
honestly.. talk bout having messed up priorities...
and yes again.. WOMEN CAN TRAVEL ALL ALONE IN AND OUT OF ARABIA WITH NO MEHRAAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! if they say they cant... its their own family with issues who just blame the country... knowin how pathetic ppl already think of it.. they wouldnt think twice of believing this bit too.
p.s) yes .. it was horrible what happened with the fire..but do u also know that the muttaway who did cause the riot had their badges taken away, and were fired ( i wonder why thsi bit of info didnt make it into WESTERN MEDIA.. HMMMMMMMMM)
... regular police took over and tried to get the situation under control... im not saying what happened wasnt wrong.. but this shows that whilst the muttaway do have some power over the general public.. they are corrected when they cross boundries....
hell i dont think any woman has been beaten up for not covering properly in the past decade... problem is ppl who left arabia back in teh late 80's still think they do.. spread the word... et voila.. messed up info ..
Re: Saudi Arabia – A Free Nation
Khawa, actually Madhu bhai tried to travel alone wearing a burqa and couldn't. Yes, you are lying.
Re: Saudi Arabia – A Free Nation
Don’t worry about Madhanee. He keeps some antiquated views firmly in place and will not budge even if you show him a video of your travelling alone. He will then say “it defies common logic”. No dude, it just defies your own misconceptions … deal with it! ![]()
Re: Saudi Arabia – A Free Nation
oh wow AJ and Faisal.. ive never given much thought to actually going and reading any of Madhu’s posts… this was my first time… glad u guyz told me.. verna mein tho :rotato: hoja thi
Re: Saudi Arabia – A Free Nation
LOL … I really love the way how somehow, living in New York you seem to know more about what women are able to do in Saudi Aarabia than a woman in Saudi Arabia knows.
What’s particularly insightful is how you started the thread by saying
However, as soon as someone who lives there posted and contradicted you, you immediately dismissed her knowledge and experience.
Were you ever actually interested in hearing from people who live there, or have lived there? Or are you more specifically interested only in hearing from people who live there AND who agree with your view of what life in Saudi is like?
Re: Saudi Arabia – A Free Nation
i think this is just another saudi arabia bashing thread... tsk tsk ...
its sick how much interest desi's show in arabia..
Re: Saudi Arabia – A Free Nation
so what's the speed limit for women on Jiddah highways?
Saudi law requires a women to get a written permission from her Mehram before she can travel out of the country. Is that so?
Re: Saudi Arabia – A Free Nation
Why?
Re: Saudi Arabia – A Free Nation

Re: Saudi Arabia – A Free Nation
I would love to know from sur, when was the last time her close relative or family member was raped or killed…?
Madhanee, I have answered ur questions previously but your obsessed, dont worry, your anti saudi threads will still not allow women to drive & will not help either.
