Re: Styajit Ray- Great indian director and first Oscar winner from India
Ahem...i guess you meant to write "Satyajit Ray".
yupe, he was one of the brightest genius of not only the Indian Bengali filmdom, but the whole of S. Asia was well.
Satyajit Ray was not the first Indian to get an Oscar .... it was Bhanu Athaya in 1982 for Gandhi .... Costume Designer.

Oh really ?
Here is my question for you !
A R Rehman won 2 oscars two days ago. I want to know Why he did not get any nominations for his master pieces in past ? He developed beautiful music for Lagaan and Rang De basanti and many other movies ? Why he was not nominated back then ?
Why Mangal pandey was not nominated for oscar like lagaan ? It was a historic movie and made with great effort. Do you know the answer ? I know the answer but i prefer to shut up for the time being
The movie i saw some 15 years ago on tv , but found persent on youtube last year. Watched few parts to refresh my live memory. here is the link where i posted some parts…
