US, UK declare war on Britain; confused France surrenders
WASHINGTON (AP) - An angry George Bush declared war on the United Kingdom today. Sources close to the president say that he became enraged over the fact that Britain calls its legislative branch “Parliament.” In an address to the nation early Sunday morning Bush said “Freedom loving peoples everywhere should have a Senate and a House of Representators.” He went on to mutter something about teaching Tony Blair a lesson for calling and waking him too early.
Quickly following suite, Prime Minister Tony Blair of Great Britain announced that his country would be a key ally of the United States in the coming entanglement. “It is important that democracies stick together in this rapidly changing world,” Blair said.
Initially, the United States is expected to send 15,000 troops to the region, while the United Kingdom will supply an additional 2,000. The Pentagon expects to encounter about 30,000 British troops in the initial battles.
In a related story, France has announced its surrender to an unknown entity. “It is important for France to avoid a repeat of the bloody First World War,” French President Jacques Chirac said. “France will do everything in its power to stop the impending crisis. Therefore,” Chirac continued, “we will surrender to the attackers. Only now may we be free to drink wine, make love and carry our personal musks.”
