Please get commercialism out from SHOWBIZ (specially TV serials/long plays...and I doubt that you or anyone would succeed here!! because the frequency of mid breaks and flooding of adverts is almost a mafia now) and then, my friend, I promise you a revival of serials like; UNKAHI, TANHAIYAAN, JHOKE SIYAL, WARIS, UNCLE URFI, TAPISH, KAHANI KI TALAASH MEIN, QILA KAHANI, AZADI K MUJRIM, PARCHAIEN...the list goes on.... as the secret of their success, besides classic scripting, was less or almost zero adverts and only ONE channel...with hardly two or three added at later stage.

Remember---no channel, production house, script writer/dramatist, TV artiste and any one connected with a production---is in love with their viewer-----hence Seema Ghazal or Sheema Geet or Humayun Jadeed or Abdullah Badwani.....are out there--to make 'hey' while the sun shines for them---afterwhich the sun will keep shining for their likes--for every player has his entrance and exit !

You are talking to someone who is a mixture of B&W and COLOR era on TV having equally worked in as number of serials and plays in both the era's since 41 years of association with showbiz....hence I can deeply feel and hear----what you are saying...which is correct but bitter as well for serious viewers who, today, are most frustrated at the hands of TV networks monopoly and Production Houses' game of MONOPOLY with each trying to purchase Park Lane and Golders Green only ! :)

However---there is a certain wave being felt or making vibrations that certain viewers *(based in large complees and housing colonies having their associations/societies) *are mustering support from the members-- for boycoting those products---whose continuous advertisements and painful repeats--disrupting the viewing pleasure and continuity of interest in watching their serials---is noted. This course would force the Product loose its sale---leading to product maker's decision to limit their volley of adverts on channels.

I know this is a cumbersome excercise-----------but its coming for sure as I myself live in a complex having 90 apartments on two blocks of sixteen storey each..with over 100 residents--and they are looping in the nearby complexes---and finally a direct dish system by booting out the cable operators who are undr great influence of the TV networks!

Finally......you will be in a uch better position to concentrate on good TV plays sripted, written or adapted from famous novels---by dramtists other then SG or the likes....as the low commercial trend on TV serials will see off what see ON these days and sulk!

By the way....the pick of Asif Raza Mir being paired with my dearest dearest dearest Yasmin Ismail in Tanhaiyaan was the advse of yours faithfully to Hasina and marhoom Shahzad Khalil...then.

Kiya yaad diladi aap ne mri Yasmin ki......woh meri jaan theeh......bilkul meri saggi behan ki tarah. Allah ussay jannat naseeb kare..kurwat kurwat.

Khush Rahein Aap..........Subb

Re: SARKAR SAHEB on ARY Digital

AYE KUCH ABR...KUCH SHARAAB AYE....
USKE BAAD AYE...JO BHI AZAAB AYE!

**Your psuedonym appears to be that of a male! **
Nevertheless...let me tell you that ALE or WHALE of a time!
I thought its purely a personal deed or matter of the 'do-ee'.

I , however, confirm here that I am a TEA-TOTALLER...and have
never touched booze in my life....despite being excessively in the company of some best 'consumers' or 'fishes' one could think of!

My only vice is smoking....which too is restricted outside home as my wife & daughters have set out rules...which includes no smoking or boozing (by guests) in our house....the very reason that some of my close cronies at show_biz come to my place..on dinners etc...after adequately blessing themselves with 'aab-e-jau'...

Khush Rahein............and dont drink !

Re: SARKAR SAHEB on ARY Digital

Sir I think I got me answer. Thank you.

Re: SARKAR SAHEB on ARY Digital

WE are only watching this drama now in the UK.

I do enjoy it.

Some points - Asif Raza Mir is top notch; zainab qayyum - does she have any 'drama school' credentyials or just a bit of modelling & mixing with industry-wallas? She is an atrocious actress - really kills the drama everytime she's on.

Nirma - they should just ban such charachters from appearing in drama serials - they just cheapen them.

  • a bit of modelling
  • do not agree with you..!

Sir, I am a bit old school. Grew up watching drama with parents. Now watch with wife & children.

But dramas see to be getting a bit more 'indecent' - like I said, I am old school, and dont like seing Muslim/Pak actresses wearing skirts and low cut tops in dramas.

In films it is acceptable - but dramas are going that way.

Maybe the viewers want to see this? I dont know.

ButI dread the day that I have turn over because I dont feel comfortable watching some scenes in a Pak dram with my family.

Re: SARKAR SAHEB on ARY Digital

I agree with the samb's comment 100%....People who have grown up watching PTV dramas cant watch the stuff these guys show on tv now a days.

The kind of stuff they show on tv in the name of trend prevailing in the society and according to them they are doing social work by highlighting the negative side of the society is actually a way to attract God knows what kind of audience. To be very honest, i used to follow tv shows n dramas keenly But sadly the current scenario has just put me off because none of the dramas contains worth watching content/people. So to fulfill the hunger for watching quality shows i have to get back to youtube n watch old stuff repeatedly and seriously it does not bore me at all but the thought of watching Faisal qureshi , hamyun saeed ,umaima , imran abbas, etc in any drama saying their lines robotically makes me drowsy.

I wish PTV days could come back.

Re: SARKAR SAHEB on ARY Digital

Falafel

I accept that modern day dramas have to move with the times - but the ideal drama is one where you feel comfortable watching a serial with all your family.

In the old PTV days, you sat down and between 8pm-9pm all of Pak came to a standstill, young & old...rich & poor.

In our household, we've tried to recreate this feeling to some degree. Watching a couple of PAk dramas at home with young & old.

If the likes of Nirma & Zainab Qayyum want to expose some flesh - then Lollywood films is their outlet....why in the dramas? Sure its only a little bit of cleavage or leg, but thats not how overwhelming majority of women dress in PAk/Muslim households - but dramas influence thinking, and start off and promote these trends.

Re: SARKAR SAHEB on ARY Digital

agree with you paijee on moving with time point...it makes sense...but for that you dont have to show intimate scenes or girls wearing revealing dresses or vulgar dialogues just to be with time because nobody wants to watch it

and these guys dont even know what damage they are doing to the society because we being the PTV viewer have learned our values , moralsn culture etc from tv (apart from parents') ...and see what our young kids are learning from pakistani channels...

moving time doesnt mean going vulgar and crossing all the limits.... thats what my point is.

And you made your point well! Theres an actress - or she might have been a model called Seemi Pasha Terrible actreess who is about 50 years old but insists on wearing skirts, vests etc

Seemi Pasha

Save it for Lollywood.
