I’ve had a discussion with one guy in Pakistan who was trying to tell me that my Namaaz will not be valid because I was wearing a shirt (full sleeve) and trousers rather than Shalwar Kameez. As if wearing Shalwar Kameez had anything to do with Islam. 
Before people from the subcontinent started moving to Arabic countries, people there probably didn’t even know how a Shalwar Kameez looks like. That guy was quite stunned when I told him that.
