the new style in india is belted saris

my college best friend just got our bridesmaid outfits back in may and luckily the trend is still rather new here in america so when she was married ppl were surprised at the look. basically you get a sari with a thick border, and then wrap it bengali stye and then pleat at the shoulders (kinda like butterfly saris) anyhow then comes a belt made to match the material and the border of the outfit.

here’s a picture of the jist of it but in this case we decided to fold our belts in half because our petticoats were too long and if we had a thick belt you’d barely see our stomachs and whats a sari without that.

we aren’t models or anything but its a nice new trend

All of you look great! However, I do not like the belt style. It just divides figure on the top.

The sari is suppose to bring out a nice mermaid shape, but the belt does not allow it to take the mermaid shape. Just my opinion.

the point of it is to make it have an empire waist kinda like how a lot of american clothes are... that's why it's suppose to be worn high on the ribs however if you don't pin it, it does slide down and divide the stomach area. :) and thanks that was us at 5am after hair and makeup on our way to take pro pics before a morning marriage ceremony. i'm so happy muslim weddings are never early in the morning.
