The red and black sari HUGE pic that aniiisa posted is called a butterfly pallu and many other things where the pallu is gathered at the shoulder with some embriodery or kaam and it's very popular these days!!
I'm not a fan of it as I like the true sari much better, but a lot of people are wearing thses as they are easier to handle!!

shah, thanks for explaining. You know i just got a sari like that from India and i didn't realize it was called a butterfly pallu, lol. I was trying to describe it earlier in this thread but i think i got lost in the effort.
