Jagpal Singh is on a sight-seeing trip to Pakistan and while in Peshawar he sees a large crowd gathered round a Pathan with a pigeon in his hand. Intruiged, he stops to take a look. The Pathan throws the pigeon into the air and amazingly, the pigeon starts to fly using only one wing!
Mr Singh thinks to himself “This is incredible! With such a bird I could make a fortune from shows in India…”
He approaches the Pathan and asks how much it will cost to buy the pigeon. 10,000 rupees replies the Pathan. Sardarji pays the money and with the pigeon in a box, excitedly boards the train for the return journey to Amritsar. Outside the Golden Temple he quickly assembles a large crowd who pay 10 rupees each to see the one winged wonder. Sardarji throws the pidgeon into the air but his jaw hits the floor when the pigeon starts flying using both wings!
The enraged crowd set about the unfortunate Mr Singh and give him a severe beating.
With the pigeon back in the box, the aching Mr Singh limps onto the train to Peshawar determined to have it out with the Pathan who sold him the fraud pidgeon. On spotting him, he shouts
“Oye Khan shab…tussi menu nakhli kabbutr vech chaddya! Mere paisay vaapas karo!”
The Pathan quietly takes the bird from the box and throws it in the air…Mr Singh’s eyes almost pop out of their sockets when, once again the pigeon takes to the skies flying with only one wing! Confused, he asks the Pathan why the pidgeon wouldn’t fly with one wing in Amritsar. The Pathan replies;
“Sardarji, yeh Peshawar hain…yaha kabbutr bhi boondh bachaa-kay oodhtay hain!”
