Re: Sarah Palin in India
This visit will increase Palin's "foreign policy experience." If she wins in 2012, all of us (here in the US) might want to start looking at developed countries with lenient immigration/asylum systems.

Re: Sarah Palin in India
Well if Sarah Palin was President of the US, then she would have insight we all would be intrested in. But seeing as how she is completely inexperienced, and completely dense, I dont see how you can draw a comparison.
You tell me, who would be more interesting for you, as someone interested in politics to listen to, Former PM of India Narsimah Rao, or Sarah Palin? Im not asking you to compare their intellect, im just saying who do you think is more relevant to someone who is interested in politics, Rao who was pm of India, or Sarah Palin former governor of one of the most sparsely populated states in the US?
Musharaf is not relevent to India? Obviously there are people in India who are interested in what goes on in Pakistan, otherwise how would you explain why you and your Indian compatriots are here? So obviously there are people intrested in what Musharaf can tell them. Also, im sure people in India would love to know more about the war on terror, Afghanistan, etc etc. Musharaf, being the President of Pakistan and having dealt with such issues, can provide some perspective on such issues that the laymen in India would not be privy to. Any way you slice it, a person who has lead a country, especially a country like Pakistan in the last ten years, is far more relevant then you would think.
Its pretty obvious that you are letting your personal views about Palin cloud your objectivity here. Palin or Musharraf or anyone else, there will be people who like/dislike them. In the end, its the India Today Group which decides what is in its best interest. What you or I think is irrelevant here.
Re: Sarah Palin in India
Go look at actual videos of Sarah Palin genius. She is actually a lot dumber in person.
I did want to respond however to your stupid comparison between Musharaf and Palin.
Musharaf: President of a Muslim majority country of 160 Million, at the center of Global politics. Has extensive dealings with the US, Nato, CIA etc etc etc. Intimately involved with negotiations direct and indirect with India. Hence, immense insight on regional and global politics, in so far as the war on terrorism is concerned, and his govts dealing with India .
Sarrah Palin: Unheard of (prior to 2008) former Governor of Alaska. Failed vice Presidential Candidate, current reality tv star, who's (as according to her) only experience in Global politics, is defined solely by her geographic proximity to Russia. Thought Africa was a country, has been deemed to be lacking in knowledge not only of World issues, and history, but also domestic US issues, and US history. Thats it.
So who is more relevant to Indians? The then President of Pakistan, or the formerly unheard know nothing Governor of Alaska?
Lets see you shine.
interesting. most Pakistanis I know were horrified and embarassed that Musharaf would take money to come perform in India. Palin is in the same scale in terms of global celebrity status, so whether you like it or not, she'll probably get paid same or in fact a bit more than Musharraf.
Don't also forget your illustrous and current president Zardari tried to 'charm' Palin and if you get a chance look up the expression of Palin when he tried that.
They are all clowns. They perform when paid. People who can afford to pay do, and enjoy. No point you guys burning or getting embarassed about it.

The point here is that a leader of an entire country is relevant to the extent that he has experience in state craft, global politics. This is about experience. Experience makes a person relevant. Especially when your the leader of an entire country.
Whether you like it or not, Musharraf, having been president of Pakistan has insight and experience which you most do not and so he is relevant to people who want to know. Its simply the reality of his position.
For example, most people would consider George Bush an imbecile, but even I would admit that if I wanted to know about the politics of Washington, of global dealing, UN etc etc, he would be the man to interview.
Comparing Palin to Musharraf, or any leader of any country is so ludicrous. Palin is a no body. Not only is she retarded, but she is completely inexperienced. She is irrelevant to everyone except those looking for a laugh.
People do dance when paid, but some people are worth seeing. Nelson Mandela, is worth paying for. Any of your former PM is worth paying for, most politicians are worth paying, including Musharaf. Palin isnt in anyways insightful or knowledgeable! So why are these people wasting their money.
And to think that she is on the same stage as your PM and Nelson Mandela! Thats like having the winner of the reality show survivor lecturing about Peace next to the Dali Lama. Its so idiotic.
Re: Sarah Palin in India
And just so you all know. I dont actually care that they are wasting their money on this woman, im just surprised Indians are actually supporting her.

Dude its not personal views. Its facts. Be honest with yourself.
Who is more relevant to a debate? Musharaf with the experience of global, regional and domestic politics, or Sarah Palin with minimal experience as governor of Alaska? If you want to know about Indo-Pak politics and the back room goings on, who do you think is relevant, Mush or Palin? Honestly.

You are missing the point again. Palin is not being invited to discuss Indo-Pak relations. The topic is "my vision for America" and Palin is a serious contender for the 2012 GOP presidential nomination. She is definitely relevant in the context of the subject being discussed.
Re: Sarah Palin in India
Wow…talk about male chauvinism. Nothing worth responding to in my posts or nothing that can help you defend your baseless ‘facts’??
I guess you just feel threatened coz I am a girl and actually know more about the world than you.
Knowledge about world affairs isn’t gender specific. Do they not teach you that in your country?
As for knowing what I am talking about…has ANYONE ever agreed with ANYTHING you’ve posted on this forum?? Your posts make everyone laugh!! In fact other people actually present a worthwhile argument, you just spew nonsense! You are a person who argues for the sake of arguing and you have absolutely NO facts to defends any of your statements.
Ok Imma gonna go on the beauty forum now to discuss MAC makeup. Come join me!!! ![]()

if you want to take that tack, why do you ignore the fact that Palin was an elected governor, a vice presidential candidate and (as you say, whether you like it or not) leader of a not too trivial bunch of conservatives and republicans in the USA which is not such an inconsequential country, especially for Pakistan?
and to complete the glitter, Musharraf is also a criminal according to Pakistan which is seeking extradition or at the least issued arrest warrants. Insubordinate general, dictator by coup, president by sham election and now a criminal on the run - this is the experience you are glorifying?
Hence my view that these are all a bunch of clowns and perform to pay masters. In this case the master happens to be an Indian company that has money to throw at clowns - whether Musharaf or Palin or SharukKhan

Uff.. Listen man. Be serious.
Being the governor of Alaska, a state with population of less the 700, 000, doesnt compare to running an entire nation of 160 MILLION PEOPLE, central to world changing events like the invasion of Afghanistan, the war on terror etc etc.
Musharaf had been in power for ten years. His resume includes dealing with Afghanistan, India, US, Nato, CIA, ISI, UN, China, Russia, EU, the Middle East...
Musharafs credibility doesnt rest on his legitimacy as Leader, it rests on his experience. He is relevant to anyone who wants to know about global politics, on Pakistani and regional South Asian politics. Its not about glorifying Musharaf. Its simply fact that Mush has experience, and is thus relevant to any debate. To deny that is being disingenuous.
Palin was governor for 4 years and ran as vice President to be for about 1 year. She cant name a single founding father of her own country that she admires. She cant name a single US Supreme Court verdict which has ever impacted US policy. **Her staff claims she didnt even know that Africa was a continent and not a Country... **
So get serious. You are actually comparing the relevance of Musharaf, to Sarah Palin!! Is this meant to be a joke?
Re: Sarah Palin in India
I get the point. But what could she possibly speak on? The woman is a joke even in the US.
And im only referring to your comparison of her to Mush.
She is definently not a serous contender. The saner members of the GOP have written her off. The Republican party knows it would be suicide to have this woman run on their party ticket.
