Anyone have any reviews on any good wedding caterers in the UK?

In particular curry special??

I used prestige catering services in southall, west london. I steered clear of greenleaf and sapna - they're too over-used, and over-hyped!

The good thing, however, is that they are better established than prestige and can get you good trade discounts. I know Greenleaf get a good deal with The Renaissance Hotel Heathrow, almost half of!

Greenleaf charge £23 per head, Sapna £25, and prestige £21 (price at July 2010) . One downfall of prestige is that they are up and coming so they haven't had the time to build up relationships/contracts with hotels etc but food is yummy! xxx

To be honest all these caterers charge a bomb and Sapna are definitely the most expensive.

What bumps the price even more is the VAT on top.

I think the best thing to do is visit them in person.

What venue did you book?

Ahhh forgot about the VAT!!!

Booked copthorne tara, slough ;-). That was at a last resort though :(. Its quite a squashy venue.

How many guests are you looking to invite?

Check out premier banqueting suite in Harrow. Everything is inclusive, per head, deco's etc, stage. A lot of people I know aare getting married there!

Ohhh ok I like copthorne Tara in Kensington with some negotiating somehow it will fit my budget.

Small wedding a max of 220 inshallah.

Thats the venue I wanted!!! Had so many issues with the lady there preeti bhudia. I got the sneaky suspicion that she was a racist. Because of her just being a pain in the arse I ended up booking copthorne slough. Kensington is nice and spacious but they dont give parking for guests free. The reception area is not as nice as as slough's and it's quite dull from the inside. If you want them, definitely go for Greenleaf as that lady Preeti knows sammir, one of the Greenleaf guys.

Oh ok! I will ask greenleaf I mean it's just an option for now but I do like the Shannon suite, I didn't think the reception area was nice either and anywhere in London you won't find free parking I'm afraid which is a pain.

I'm also considering millennium Gloucester but it's a bit more pricey.

What was that womans issue with you?

Yeah Millennium Gloucester is really pricey.

Have you considered any of the Heathrow Hotels?

Yes well I don't actually like any of the heathrow hotels. Sheraton skyline is good but only Madhus are exclusive caterers there and there food is not great.

The only one I like is the Raddisson Edwardian which is very expensive. Once I have booked one I will let you know! X

Hi girls..

Personally we always go with Sapna. They are so efficient and reliable. Both my sisters are married now mashallah and we went with Sapna for both! One of my sisters got married in millenium gloucester and it was absolutely perfect and gorgeous!!

Also Raddison Edwardian on Bath Road Heathrow is beautiful too!

If you don't mind me' asking how much did Sapna charge you altogether and how many guests.
I know they are reliable but they are pricey, were you able to negotiate with them?

Also what did your guests do about parking in London as this is a big problem for me!

Would appreciate your feedback.

Been to two weddings at Radisson and sapna have catered for both, the food, especially the starters was very good. Also been to a few weddings where greenleaf have done the catering, food was not of the same standard at each event, so maybe they have different chefs?

I've also noticed that Greenleaf's food is not consistent.

Most weddings in my family have been catered by Greenleaf and sometimes the food will be delicious, and then sometimes is not. The starters will be yummy but the main not so!

Went to a wedding on Saturday , Greenleaf were the caterer. Was very disappointed with the food, Papri-chaat tasted like the yogurt was off, fish was cold and chicken was very bland.
