santa was going on a vacation and wanted to read a crime Thriller.Banta suggested him one and said there is one very suspense crime Thriller but in the end you will find out that Gardner is the one who has done a crime,eventually braking out the suspense of the Crime Thriller.

The joke is in the phone number. He thought that since the phone numbers were just 1 number apart, his friend must live next door, assuming that phone numbers assigned by house numbers or something. funny stuff:)
