While I was painting before fajr prayers, guess on what time I wake up, a boy was reciting a naat in Masjid…and it was in the tune of 'Sano nehr walay pull tay bula kay" song.
Is it a good thing to creat naats on songs tunes? I dont like this much as it distracts ones attention and it reminds you the song instead of naat. And it shows the lack of creativity, if you are an artist, creat your own stuff.
Re: Sano nehr walay pull tay bula kay.............
i know what you are saying...it is not good at all...& i don;t know why they say naats on loud speakers...& sometimes some masjids do muqaablay baazi too over the loud speakers for the naats...especially at fajr time...
Re: Sano nehr walay pull tay bula kay.............
yes...whenever i go to lahore....there are a lot of people(mainly kids)singing naats ....on loud speakers....& there are churches ...who say their sermons over loud speakers ...& sing hymns as qawalis...
yes i guess its a new trend …especially in lahore, faisalabad, etc…(mainly of late 90’s,2000’s)…mainly seen in Barelvi mosques(also called green topi waleys in lahore)..
Re: Sano nehr walay pull tay bula kay.............
Every thing that distracts attentions from its reality is not good. Whether its in Reciting Naat or making natural creations! You always can go to him and tell this instead opening a thread; in this case you must be helping the poor guy…beside be prepared if he ask you why you make duplicate paintings of real nature!
Well said Dada Abbaa! However, do you not think that this recent trend might have started to give incentive to the younger generation to look at Islam in a different way? Rather than preach in the old fashioned way to the new generation, I think that they have recognised that music is playing a big part in gaining the attention of people, and cleverly they put meaningful words to a popular tune in the hope that it will catch on, and rather than have words in a song that poetically express the woes and griefs of love, life and mundanity, they choose to share the wisdom of Islam in a more approachable fashion. I personally don’t think it matters whether a naat is recited with or without music, but music definately keeps someone’s attention. We have a member of the family who is only 4, but knows many naats and recites/sings them beautifully because the music and the beat have taken his attention. Surely this can’t be a bad thing???
thanks
It all depends on the intentions, people who recite Naat are usually more in love to Prophet Muhammad :saw: than others, but again we can not see what’s in heart of any individual… we usually judge and pass comments to any person on the basis of sole knowledge what we got, we usually don’t try to ask any Molana or Mufti before we label some as ‘Bida’a’ or anything… we first look at our self what we are and what are suppose to do!
When it comes to Islam, we become most fragile, but other than that we don’t say a single word, no matter people are dancing on the road on the beats or doing so many unethical and unreligious things, but we are expert in spotting any thing related to religion!
I must say before we do label some one, we must ask our self, how good Muslim we are? Are we following Islam completely? And if not then we have no right to say anything about any person!
Yeah if we have doubt or question or if we wanna correct some one, then we must approach to any Mufti and consult him or her! But this will never help any religion by provoking and opening thread against them on the back! If we are sincere to correct them, then we must approach them and sit with them and ask first why they did it! Then if we have enough knowledge then convince them according to Quran and Sunna’t… this is very simple! And will avoid FITNA in our nation …
May God help us correcting first our self and then others! …
We say Music is Haraam, but we listen always, what is this?
yae i even hate this naat being said in the tune of a song.
what was the worst encounter of mine with a naat (astugfarullah)
a stupid guy in my class once recited a naat in such a manner that i could not help laughing. at that moment ( though i tried my best to control my emotions) i laughed soo much that eventually i had to leave the class.
