Sangakara

IS he the best wicketkeeper batsman of all times?

He has 23 centuries, near 8000 runs, 5-6 double centuries, thats as good as Miandad.

Re: Sangakara

7 Test double ton

Re: Sangakara

What about Gilly???

Re: Sangakara

tough!

Re: Sangakara

A test average of 56.62 after 90 test matches at No.3 position is awesome and really shows his class on top of keeping the whole test match. Off late he has not been keeping in test matches.

Re: Sangakara

I don't think so. It's Gilly hands down.

Sanga is great but his records are mostly at home or in the sub continent. His away avg is good but it's over a small number of games. It's not really his fault because he just doesn't get enough opportunities to play outside the subcontinent. SL doesn't play as many away tests. It seems that the other boards don't give SL the same treatment.

I just haven't seen enough game changing or game saving innings by Sanga as I have seen from Gilly.

Re: Sangakara

Pretty easy to get big 100s on the flat decks in Sri Lanka.

Gilchrist was a far better player in my book...and he was a game changer which Sangakarra is not.

Re: Sangakara

cheers mania for summarizing my post :P

Re: Sangakara

Sangakkara hasn't kept wickets for a while as a test cricketer. One of the best test batsmen of the current era, without a doubt, however, and probably the most elegant of the current lot.
