Sandy Hook School Tragedy and The Media

I’m absolutely flabbergasted at the frenzy that has overtaken the media with regards to this horrific tragedy. Is it the race to scoop that has created the mass of misinformation that has plagued reporting on this incident? Or plain and simple disregard for ethics and sensitivity?

Are there no rules for what is right and wrong any more? What drives Piers Morgan to interview Isreal, a school mate of Adam Lanza who ultimately claimed that she didn’t really associate with Adam? Was she just there for her 15 minutes of fame or was Morgan just angling for ratings?

Why is Morgan even trying to interview a child survivor? Why is that child’s mother allowing her child to be exploited like this?

What is the world of media coming to?

Re: Sandy Hook School Tragedy and The Media

apparently there was one child from that class that survived this tragic incident by playing “dead”

Worse thing to happen to news and journalism was 24 hour ‘news’ channels, the focus on viewership ratings to get more Ad dollars and thus a need to appeal to the lowest common denominator.
