Sandra Bullock Drawn to Alfonso Cuaron's 'Gravity'

Sandra Bullock](Sandra Bullock | Moviefone)may be ready to blast off as the female lead in Alfonso Cuaron’s science fiction film ‘Gravity’](Gravity (2013) - Movie | Moviefone) now that Natalie Portman has passed on the project. According to Variety, Bullock and Warner Bros. are in negotiations for the actress to play opposite Robert Downey Jr. in the 3-D film that revolves around two astronauts fighting to survive on a remote space station after satellite debris wipes out the crew.

Bullock is capping a long list of actresses who had been considered for the role. Angelina Jolie was up first but the studio balked at her $20 million fee. Next for consideration were Marion Cotillard, Scarlett Johansson and Blake Lively; Portman was in serious talks to take the role but had to back out after her schedule got crowded.
