sandal/shoe problem

I have a hard time wearing my new sandals/flats/pumps almost everything. They just cut at one place or another … I walk in them in the store before buying but sometimes I am unable to realize that they will hurt so badly. I have many pairs that I hardly wear because of the fear of all the cuts I will have and all the discomfort. Even after a lot of wear they never stop hurting.
Can something be done to the new shoes so they dont cut?
I once read somewhere to put wax to help, I did but I dont know how much wax I need to put because that did not help me either.

Re: sandal/shoe problem

For shoes you are supposed to 'wear them in', you do this by walking in them wearing socks, the leather only needs to stretch a little, dont wear them in too much. For sandals, they will hurt if you dont buy the right type, put clear plasters on the area of your foot where they cut you and next time think before you buy sandals...no quick fix there im afraid as sandals are the dushman footwear.

Maybees check your shoe size too, not every style/type of shoe should be hurting you. You might be a half size.

Re: sandal/shoe problem

one of the totka is to wet your feet and then wear your shoes and walk around the house..... do this few times and it should make your shoes bit loose..
..... some people also rub oil on their feet and then wear the shoes....

Re: sandal/shoe problem

Yes I have done this and it worked.
I had some sandals from Pakistan which though are pretty to look at but are not very foot-friendly or made according to the shape of feet. The totka helps them loosen a bit and then they are comparatively comfortable to wear.

Re: sandal/shoe problem

Wet feet in shoes = smelly shoes.

Oiled feet in shoes = stained shoes.

Do people not like shoes?!?!?

Re: sandal/shoe problem

Oh no it is just a moist foot that goes in the sandal and since they are 'airy' shoes, they dry off and do not stink later on.

Re: sandal/shoe problem

May be your feet have become wider?

Re: sandal/shoe problem

I have not tried rubbing oil but I dont know if it will help, I will try.

In the attached picture, the red arrow is where it cuts the most. The size seems right to me as it does not feel tight. It feels that the sides are always too hard (even when they do not feel very hard) so when it keeps rubbing against the skin, I get those cuts.
Sometimes I also get marks or cuts where the blue arrow is, that might be due to wrong size.

Re: sandal/shoe problem

may be, but as long as I can remember I have always had this problem. There are hardly 2 to 3 pair that I can wear without being uncomfortable.
Would feet becoming wider also explain the back part of the flats/pumps hurting ?

My sister thinks I am crazy to still keep on wearing all of these when I always get marks and cuts. I keep on wearing in the hope that eventually they will stop hurting.

I used to get my sister to walk around in my new shoes. She has 'wide fit' feet :D

Re: sandal/shoe problem

I’m not sure if there is much you can do

I have the same issue and have tried plenty of different things. The conclusion is that I am incredibly fussy about my footwear and don’t just buy shoes on a whim. I will wear them around the house to decide if I’m keeping them or not. If they seem to rub anywhere, they go back because if they are rubbing just in the house, they will for sure rub really badly when you wear them properly outside. Sometimes you find a brand where the shoes don’t cause a problem, so I stick to that. My last 3 pairs of flats have been from steve madden and none of them cut or rub anywhere.

I make sure they don’t rub at the front, where you drew blue arrows because there is almost nothing you can do about that. For the red arrows, I always make sure I buy 1/2 size up and put a gel heel strip in the back.

^ Lifesaver. I’ve worn it with all kinds of shoes and it’s awesome. It won’t stain your shoe either, which is great.

Re: sandal/shoe problem

I ll try the half size up and the gel strip.

Re: sandal/shoe problem

It has good reviews and every reviewer recommended it. I hope it solves my problem as well. Thanks

Re: sandal/shoe problem

:( That stuff didn't work for me. Can't tell you how much money I've wasted on products like this.

Re: sandal/shoe problem

oh no !!
do you have narrow feet ?
I used to think its everyones problem, its just that they can take the pain easily. Recently a cousin of mine tried on my flats, she has slightly heavier feet and she said they were very comfortable, she walked around and it did not hurt her at all when I cannot wear them for more than 2 minutes.

Re: sandal/shoe problem

Try it anyway. I have narrow feet, yes.
