Newbies when they register make these mistakes. 1. They will open threads with same title and same content in multiple forums. 2. They will post religious topics in café and café topics in religion forum. 3. They will be very aggressive in the initial stages of their orientation to these forums will inadvertently end up insulting to others and either get a ban , warning or infarction. 4. They do not know that they are not supposed to post 3 or more consecutive posts in a thread. 5. They want a custom avatar from day one. 6. Some will post in all upper case.

Nice idea but highly unpractical.
What we can do is when some one joins in, send them a welcome message with all the rules and regulations and if some new member makes a mistake be highly polite with him/her and make them understand what he/she is doing wrong.
positive point is that: if we do implement the idea of sand box then we wont need these many mods.

Some big fun forums have implemented this idea long time ago and I guess this is one of the reasons they have gone so big that now they charge money to new members to join to have fun.

They’re newbies, not retards. They figure it out soon enough, and if you give them a little sandbox area to screw up in, then they won’t learn.
Also, if there’s a newbie sandbox I would probably be tempted to go there and bully them.
