my tab is not turning on or even charge. When i press power button i can see dim light in the screen. nthing happens otherwise.
since i got it i havent used it much. my daughter plays sometimes and leaves it on and it shuts down after battery finishes.
help please

Try a different charging cord and/ or plug.
Do you think/ know if it's been dropped? Water damage?
I have tried charging with different chargers and still same.
I hardly used it and didnt dropped or anything.

If it's not charging at all, even with different cords, the charging port (the spot you plug the charging cord in to) may be damaged.
But if the screen is turning on, even a dim light, would lead me to believe it's either not fully discharged, OR there could be damage internally.
I would just take it in for repair or at least have a professional run diagnostic tests to try to determine the cause.

Hmm, you know what my mother's Samsung tab did the same thing once. It was all dim and unresponsive. I don't exactly know what I did but I think I pressed the buttons for multiple configurations and times until one combo worked. I think it was the volume up and power button and was a good amount of time. Like over a minute.

This reminds me of those Chinese MP3 players I used to have sometime ago, they would die in similar fashion and would not charge or display anything.
When you plugin the device, does it show any signs of charging like the logo at the top turns to lightning bolt (I hope Samsung uses that). you also say that the device is left on until battery finishes, if it's been going on for quite some time may be the screen has some issue.
Another possibility, as mentioned above, is that the charging port of the tab might be damaged. Check if the charging point fits properly.
Connect the tab to you laptop or PC and see if it is recognized.

Plug it into wall charger and put it on charging for atleast 20 minute. it will start charging hopefully. It happens sometimes.

If all else has failed do a factory reset.
Go into the recovery mode on the device and follow the instructions on this iFixit website:
