Samsung Galaxy S 5

Re: Samsung Galaxy S 5

They didnt upgrade the RAM to 3 GB. Its still on 2 GB. They did however, downgraded a lot of the samsung apps. I think its because of their new agreement with google to not mess with Android too much.

Re: Samsung Galaxy S 5

Why u no root the phone sir?

Re: Samsung Galaxy S 5

'u'

Oh dear :/

I am not happy with Blackberry's battery. Its appalling.

Re: Samsung Galaxy S 5

What is wrong with using the just the letter “u” instead of you. I was in a hurry :snooty:.

And you have a Blackberry? Which one? Z10, Q10?

Re: Samsung Galaxy S 5

Z10. I mean its pretty good and has mostly everything a Samsung has. But the battery life isn’t good. Eg if I play music and read a book battery would halve within 2 hours.

Re: Samsung Galaxy S 5

Yes, that's a good phone no doubt. How's the App store? I have a BBZ10 I'm playing with these days. I was quite impressed (though not enough to ever be unfaithful to my Android friends).

Re: Samsung Galaxy S 5

I find it pretty good, it has most apps Android has. And any apps it doesn't have can be easily be converted using software online. The browser is pretty good as well. The only thing I want improve is battery life and its keyboard. Samsungs keyboard is awesome.

Re: Samsung Galaxy S 5

Why would anyone want a blackberry now? Wasnt the main idea being able to check corporate email on it or is there something I am missing?

Re: Samsung Galaxy S 5

Not that I use it often, but that defeats the purpose of using the ‘S pen’ as ROMs don’t implement it properly. Also, aren’t there issues with the camera not function to its fullest?

The other might be that is it too much to ask for a lean OS? At least give us the right to uninstall junk.. :halo:

Re: Samsung Galaxy S 5

I’ve not used a rooted Note but Mr. TofiBaba does. I’ve never heard him complain about the lack of functionality of the S Pen. Camera has no issues. There’s tons of camera apps too. Only issue with my camera on the S4 is that I can’t save images to the SD card directly but we have several other ways. So if you can’t get it the way you want it, you make it the way you want it. It’s a free world with unlimited opportunities…and that is the very reason we get Androids because we can almost make them behave the way we want them to.

Re: Samsung Galaxy S 5

There are ROM's out there that have included the S-Pen functionality built in. Basically all ROM's that use touchwiz are the ones with s-pen built in since TofiBaba uses AKOP ROM's he cant use S-Pen since S-Pen is part of samsung not google development.

Re: Samsung Galaxy S 5

If i use ROMs with touchwhiz then that defeats the purpose right?

Re: Samsung Galaxy S 5

Hmmm, we shall wait for TB to tell us about his S Pen Functionality.

Re: Samsung Galaxy S 5

Not really. The main purpose is to remove the bloatware (Samsung and T-mobile/phone carrier apps) and there are touchwiz ROM’s that would do that for you.

Re: Samsung Galaxy S 5

But I disable them straight away (cache / data is deleted) so they don't really exist in data terms, do they?

Re: Samsung Galaxy S 5

When you say you disable them what do you mean? Like disable them to start on startup?

Re: Samsung Galaxy S 5

Well, there is an option in application settings to disable app. That means it doesn't start right?

Re: Samsung Galaxy S 5

When you disable stock apps, they don't run in the background. They do take up storage space and can only be removed if you root your phone. Some stock apps can't even be disabled.

Re: Samsung Galaxy S 5

Disabling some stock apps can mess your device up e.g. disable gallery and camera disappears.

Re: Samsung Galaxy S 5

Birthday gift :D And I like it as I used and preferred BBM to Whatsapp. This was before the former was available on Android.
