Samsung Galaxy Note Club @ GS

Re: Samsung Galaxy Note Club @ GS

The battery is new, as it can get, from ebay.

Aaghh, I hate this forum. It won’t even work properly on IE. Why does only this forum ever give me trouble?

Re: Samsung Galaxy Note Club @ GS

What i would suggest to you, if you are rooted, install Greenify and freeze out certain apps that you don’t need from the Play services etc. I hate this new magazine here and now app. If you really want to get down and dirty, do a factory reset. Then install the apps, checking each as you install them.

I had a severe case of battery drainage when I had my S3. Since then things have been ok. ON the Note 3 I installed the Goole Experience Launcher (GEL) and it was causing battery issues and I got rid of it. SInce then (and before GEL) i get 1.5 - 1.75 days of batter on a normal day.

PS: I have a stock Note 3 so haven’t been able to do any of the “good” stuff on it yet. Its been 10 days. I think IMA root it tonight. I’ll start up another thread on that.

Re: Samsung Galaxy Note Club @ GS

Sadly, it isn’t rooted. I assume since you have stock Note 3 (ATT or tmobile?) that you have kitkat on it, right? I have heard that it is light on the resources unlike ICS which could not run on older hardware.

It’ll probably be next year before ATT rolls it out here.

Re: Samsung Galaxy Note Club @ GS

^^ I thought Note 3 was still shipping with 4.3 with an update possibility for 4.4 in 2014.

Re: Samsung Galaxy Note Club @ GS

Note 3 comes with 4.3. I hear from inside sources that 4.4 is in the works. And yes, 4.4 is supposed to be able to run on devices with a minimum of 512mb of RAM.
Forget ICS, talk about HoneyComb for bad Android versions.

Re: Samsung Galaxy Note Club @ GS

So, I did the Airplane mode “ON” for 13.5 hours and I only lost 3% battery. I also tried Battery Doctor (KS Mobile) app when charging but I don’t think that it should have made that much of a difference.

I don’t have facebook shacebook on, so it seems something it eating up the battery. Could it be location services even with Google Now off?!?? For some odd reason, Google Maps won’t work with the location services off even when GPS is one? Sorry to rain on the parade here, but I am disappointed as Apple iDevices preserve battery on iPhones much more on standby when I don’t disable location services on maps etc.

Re: Samsung Galaxy Note Club @ GS

I’ve bought a samsung galaxy 3 few days ago but there is a problem. Whenever I connect wifi internet on my computer stop working. Why is it so? any idea?

Re: Samsung Galaxy Note Club @ GS

^ Are you connecting your phone to the Wifi and the computer disconnects or are you connecting your computer through the hotspot on the phone?

Re: Samsung Galaxy Note Club @ GS

You don’t have one of those connections where only a certain number of devices are allowed at one time, do you?

Re: Samsung Galaxy Note Club @ GS

I am on 4.3 and the android notification system is crap. I can set up a time interval but it will also be “on” during weekends. iPone’s notification has that common sense to select days!

So, what kind of notification apps are out there (preferably FREE) that you guys use to silent ringers, texts etc in weekdays ? I need something customizable. Right now, I have just turned off the sound which doesn’t matter that much since I am in a dead zone here anyway but I might move soon.

Re: Samsung Galaxy Note Club @ GS

Thanks. I’ll try it when I have internet connection later in the day.

So I saw in-app purchases here.. What is the deal with that?
Do I need to buy stuff in-app for the stuff you mentioned above?

Re: Samsung Galaxy Note Club @ GS

Ok, so I m back into the Note club again. Just got my note 3 yesterday and I m loving it.

Re: Samsung Galaxy Note Club @ GS

Soon to be out with the car backing over the device… :stuck_out_tongue:

Re: Samsung Galaxy Note Club @ GS

nah. Not with note 3.

Re: Samsung Galaxy Note Club @ GS

Congrats Joel. I know you’re going to love it more as the days go on.

Re: Samsung Galaxy Note Club @ GS

Timeriffi turned out to be a fluke. Sure, it changed the setting to vibrate in the morning but the phone just rang. When I went back to settings, I still couldn’t re-enable the vibrate option even when I played around the settings. I have done a data delete (cache reset) and restarted the phone, but the problem still existed so it goes in the garbage.

Someone elsewhere said that Tasker (paid) is good. Android really sucks here for not allowing me days where I could set times UNLIKE iOS. Any thoughts Candy Uncle?
