I am trying to find the lowest price on this perticular model of Samsung & if any others that offer the same features but cheaper.
It will be great if I can get some owner reviews.

What's so great about Panasonic DVD-S35S that I can't get in the Samsung?

ahmadjee, most Pannies don't suffer from the chroma bug.. although i haven't researched the particular dvd player, or dvd players in general for a while so can't say for sure.. the Panasonic model just came up when researching in the same price range and their DVD players have a very good reputation.
u can also buy the samsung for cheaper refurbished + warranty ..
Hum .. I can't seem to find Panasonic at the same price. The base model for it is around 100 bucks. Though I could find a Sanyo and RCA with similar features for a little cheaper, around 75
Oh and some come with a feature Progressive Scan Output, some don't. From what I understand, you need to have a TV that recognize progressive scan feature, otherwise no use. True or not?
that panasonic he posted has progressive scan. and you are true its only useful if you have a tv that supports progressive scan.
ahmadjee.. when you inquired about the DVD-P231 i thought you were searching for an < $100 progressive scan dvd player..
if you do not have a display capable of utilizing that feature you could get a cheaper one that also plays VCD's.
I ordered the samsung from buy.com; figured one day I will own a TV that will have progressive scan. ;-)
^ hope they dont switch to blue lasers in the future :D.
