Well, I think snack is the wrong word to use because most of these are heavy and filling enough to be eaten as meals or hte main course.
I was never into the desi-snacks type stuff, pakoras, samosas etc… but these days for some reason I can’t get enough of samosa chaat (actually I can..but u know what I mean).
At home I usually mash a store bought samosa, add dhania, yogurt and shaan chaat masala/any masala and pakoriyaN. From the restaurant, they add the mashed up samosa, yogurt, plus hari mirch chutney, chanay, aloo-chanay ka masala, the red chutney, and pakoriyan… today i added namak paray to mine :halo:
Silly me bought namak paray thinking they were a substitute for papri chaat. :@:
My "recipe"? take some restaurant-bought samosas, mash em up, chop up some onions and dhania ifu have, pour yogurt over it and chaat masala/chana chaat masala/etc over it and voila. :)
GTG, I have those mini samosas from the stores. I lightly break them, put some chana chaat on top, dahi wali chatni, green chatni, couple more lightly crumbled samosas, some onion, tomatoes, some crushed pita chips and chaat masala... yum yum! :D
lol he can make his dahi bhallay himself.. I plan to make pakoray and samosa chaat only today.. he is making chicken and roti and if he wants, dahi bhallay :D
samosa chat...yummmmmmmmmmm now i want some too and its not even noon yet :(
i like to make it with fresh store bought samosa that are crispy.....add yogurt based coriander chutney, some yogurt with masala (salt, pepper, chat masala), imli chutney, papri or samosa dough crisps, and some cooked down channa curry.....and top it with finely shredded lettuce or mixed salad like cucumbers/crisp tomatoes...etc.....
sprinkle with whatever masala you like....usually just chat masala
