thats sooo true Shay.....ppl should have basic principles and common respect for ppls pictures - and if u notice less and less brides are posting pics of their wedding days as a result.** im sure the girl who is doing this will NEVER post her pictures on here.**...but I bet she isnt a touch on any of use fabulous brides - :-)

My pictures weren't posted in that group but 80 percent of the pictures there belonged to guppans from here and other brides whos pictures have been posted in bridal section. I want to say that please let's respect it when someone asks you not to save or pass around their pictures, just out of courtesy. It was a shame to see pictures of hijabi brides even, who had especially noted in their post NOT to pass their pictures around, and yet they ended up on that facebook group with paklinks name at the bottom. By the way, making it viewable only to women does not make it okay for anyone to share pictures unless you have the owner's permission. Most of us girls and brides-to-be who post here often for our wedding ideas, discuss details with everyone here and share our joy of getting married have gotten so attached to this place and to those who have helped us. Alot of guppans here, Silsila for one, have posted their wedding pictures here only because people on GS kept on asking to see them. I think that's really nice of someone when they let you share in on their happiness. The least you can do for them is respect their wish of not sharing their pictures.. what's so hard about doing that? And then to post them on a public facebook group without owner's permission and when asked to remove them, turning around to say such nasty things like, 'you're posting them online to get praises, blah blah'.. come on, that's so low.
I would reiterate what Shay has said. A lot of guppans share ideas/details about their wedding plans with people here on GS. A wedding is one of the most personal and intimate moments of ones life. The guppans who do share pictures here do so because they want to share their ideas with us and also to show how it turned out. Not to get praises as Shay said. People should think twice before they breach someone's trust and privacy so easily. Not only that, but it totally illegal too. Furthermore, it is disheartening for future brides, when such things happen, to want to share any pictures or details in the future.
It is really saddening to see this happen and who knows how many more incidences there are out there which are similar to this. However, it is good to know that the matter has been resolved effectively:)

the prupose of her group is to show 'real pakistani brides' not models etc dressed up......so she goes onto websites such as gupshup and uploads other ppls pictures

on a desi forum i was on there's a vip section. Basically one admin ran it and you had to apply for vip status, then the admin would decide if you were on the website long enough, trustworthy and would let you in. Once there were a group of like 5 vips they would make topics on letting the next member in. it would be taken to a vote.
I liked that because then members felt comfy posting their own pictures from private events because non vip members were not allowed access. I would say that i'm sure the maker of that group probably is a member under a few names on here. I think it would be in Gs's interest to do some sort of a members only or ladies only section where senior members could approve of who has access.
