Same-sex marriage is becoming acceptable and more common in many countries. According to Wikipedia, 15 countries and several provinces/states in multiple countries recognize same-sex marriage. The trend is surely to continue.

What are your views on the legalization of same-sex marriage? The religious stance on this issue is quite clear but how do you view it from a legal and ethical point of view? Should they be denied certain tax benefits because of how they choose to live their life? Should states have the right to discriminate against citizens based on their sexual choices?

I am curious as to why most of posters have ignored this and brought their arguments based on religion…for it or against it.

I personally have no qualms about red part.

Irreligious, anti-religion, politically correct liars, confused, and those who plain and simple have no clue whatsoever what is right and what is wrong may say anything,…but,

…Homosexuality by any standard including social, psychological (Please do not try to give me ludicrous DSM criteria and its diagnosis) is wrong.

People who wrote DSM criteria have removed it from being called as a mental disorder and it was removed simply based on other reasons, not based on the reality.

**There is no reason for anyone in right mind and intelligence to EVER agree that homosexuality is NATURAL and NORMAL.
This is regardless of any affiliation to any religion.

Religion(s) only confirm the fact in this matter and should be left alone for now.

All it means is no matter how many times these people marry, being smart and not mentally sick, they still choose A woman for themselves at a time.

No, it’s still between a man and a woman. A man’s marriage to the first wife is a separate marriage than the one to the second wife etc.

In some parts of Pakistan a marriage can also be between a book and a woman.

And in certain parts of India, a marriage can also be between a woman and a monkey or tree.

Both are wrong.

Multiple wrongs cannot still prove homosexuality right.

Statement implies marriage between one man and one woman.

Nowhere in Islamic tradition or Mormons (hope so) one man marries multiple women at the same time **and **in one moment of the day.

While polygamy is not an essential element of Islam, polygamy is allowed for Muslims and Mormons .

P.S. Forget about marriage, even Mutah is between a man and a woman.
