same old stuff...

…yeap its the same old ‘whats the best exercise’ thread…

ive finally joined the gym and been going for two weeks

so far… im only doing 30min on cross trainer (on 0 incline), 30min on treadmill (fat burn) and a bit of ab work (using the ab roller)… havent ventured out to the weights area just yet… its kinda intimidating… too many toned men around

what i wanted to know was… what else can one do to lose the extra flab around the waist? i’ve noticed its going down slowly, but im not sure whether what im doing is any good for the waist.. besides trimming it..

what do you guys recommend?

Certain weight(as in dumbells) exercises and crunches are great for the ab area. Best to ask a personal trainer at the gym for tips on that. smile

thanx :flower2:

yeah i do a lot of the crunches… ouch my abs hurt today…

i didnt know dumbbells were good for the waist area.. interesting… im scared of the trainers… will get my friend to ask hehe

sadz,

no matter how many crunches or other ab-workouts you do, fat doesnt burn off from your tummy/any one particular spot on your body. it burns off at a pattern prescribed by your genes, irrespective of what muscles you use to burn these calories off. and mostly, abdominal fat isnt the earliest fat to leave. stick to your cardio routine (yours has 60 mins on it, thats real good), give it a few months, it's slow, but there's no other way out.

stay away from people who tell you to do a 1000 crunches a day to get rid of ab fat.

hey queer...

thanx heaps for that advice... yeah see before gym, i was always doing bout 100-200 crunches a day and 30 min walking (outdoor).. and nothing really seemed to be happening (well only bit of toning up)... but yeah kewl now i know.. its not going to be a one month makeover...

thanx :)
