باراک اوبامہ کے دورِ صدارت میں یہ پہلا میزائل حملہ ہے
پاکستان کے قبائلی علاقے شمالی وزیرستان میں ایک امریکی میزائل حملے میں سات افراد ہلاک ہوئے ہیں۔ اس حملے میں میر علی کے مقام پر ایک گھر کو نشانہ بنایا گیا۔
مقامی انتظامیہ نے ہلاکتوں کی تصدیق کر دی ہے۔ مقامی انتظامیہ کے ایک اہلکار نے بتایا کہ ہلاک ہونے والوں میں تین افراد مقامی اور چار عرب ہیں۔

باراک اوبامہ کے امریکی صدارت کے عہدے کا حلف اٹھانے کے بعد پاکستان میں یہ پہلا میزائل حملہ ہے۔

مقامی لوگوں کا کہنا ہے کہ امریکی جاسوسی طیاروں نے مبینہ طور پر تحصیل میر علی سے تقریباً دو کلومیٹر دور واقع زیرکی میں ایک گھر کو نشانہ بنایا ہے۔ مقامی لوگوں کا مزید کہنا ہے کہ مقامی طالبان نے مذکورہ گھر کو محاصرے میں لے لیا ہے اور وہاں سے لاشیں نکالی جا رہی ہیں۔

اس سلسلے میں جب پاکستانی فوج کے ترجمان اطہر عباس سے رابطہ کیا گیا تو انہوں نے کہا کہ انہیں حملے کی اطلاع پہنچی ہے تاہم اس کی تصدیق نہیں ہو پارہی ہے۔

یہ حملہ ایک ایسے وقت کیا گیا ہے جب جمعرات کو ہی پاکستانی حکام نے ملک کے دورے پر آئے ہوئے نیٹو کے سیکریٹری جنرل جاپ ڈی ہوپ کے ساتھ ملاقاتوں میں سرحد پار سے ڈرونز طیاروں کے حملے روکنے پر زور دیا تھا۔

پاکستان کے وزیراعظم یوسف رضا گیلانی نے چند ماہ قبل اس امید کا اظہار کیا تھا کہ امریکہ کے نومنتخب صدر باراک اوبامہ کی بیس جنوری کو حلف لینے کے بعد پاکستانی سرزمین پر جاسوسی طیاروں کے حملے بند ہوجائیں گے۔

شمالی وزیرستان میں آخری بار سولہ دسمبر کو ڈرونز کا مبینہ حملہ ہوا تھا جس کے بعد طالبان نے صرف ایک ماہ کے دوران پندرہ سے زائد افراد کو امریکہ کے لیے جاسوسی کرنے کے الزام میں قتل کردیا تھا۔طالبان نے دعوی کیا تھا کہ انہوں نے جاسوسوں کےنیٹ ورک کو کمزور کردیا ہے۔

notice as US kicked up its strikes, suicide and other terrorist attacks in Pakistan have dropped dramatdically…

there is a direct co-relation between US drones killing these terrorists and the lessening of terrorist attacks in Pakistan

these attacks alone have saved over 3,000 pakistani lives

That's the heart rendering part of the news. Who can disrespect the loss of kids and babies. They were supposed to have full life, and hopefully they would have contributed to the betterment of Pakistan (unless their schools were blown up by their fellow Taliban, but that's another discussion, another thread).

Little kids are supposed to be protected by Mums and Dads. Normal parents never allow their kids to be in danger of any kind. Then why the normal behavior was not exhibited by the parents this case?

the drone attacks are killing al qaeda members which are arabs

who use that area as a sanctuary to plot global attacks

these Swat are indigenous pakis who have been brainwashed by arabs....that is a fight that pakistan needs to fight on its own.....

Thousands attend funeral of drone victims

PESHAWAR/MIRAMSHAH/WANA: Thousands of tribesmen on Saturday attended the funeral prayers of the victims of Friday’s drone attacks in the North and South Waziristan Agencies. They condemned the killings and asked US President Barack Obama to spend the money on the welfare of the tribal people instead of killing them with sophisticated weapons.

Hundreds of tribesmen thronged Zyaraki village of North Waziristan Agency (NWA) to attend the funeral prayers of those killed in the drone attack.

Tribal militants and religious scholars present on the occasion were critical of the reporting of the international wire agencies and the national electronic media which, they said, reported that al-Qaeda operatives were killed in the CIA-operated spy-plane attack.

Religious scholars, including former MNA Maulana Deendar, Maulana Muhammad Alam and others, addressed a sizeable gathering of mourners at Zyaraki village of the Mirali subdivision and condemned air strikes by the US planes on the tribal villages.

They claimed that all those killed in the attack were innocent and local villagers, who had nothing to do with militancy or Taliban.

The CIA-operated spy plane on Friday evening fired three Hellfire missiles on the outhouse (Hujra) of Haji Khalil Dawar, killing 10 people and injuring several others.

There were also reports that four among the dead were Arabs, probably Egyptians, and one hailed from the Punjab, sources close to the militants confirmed. There were also rumours that a low-level Al-Qaeda operative — Mustafa al-Misri — was also among the dead.

However, relatives of Khalil Dawar and residents of Zyaraki village denied the killing of foreign nationals in the attack.

Agencies add: The death toll from two suspected US missile attacks on al-Qaeda bases has risen to 22, officials and residents said on Saturday. Eight suspected foreign militants were among the dead. A senior security official said authorities were trying to determine the seniority of an Egyptian al-Qaeda militant believed to have been killed.

Deaths of innocents, especially children is just heart breaking. I share the feeling of many here who blame the US for not taking care to prevent innocent deaths. But we should also blame the jihadis and Taliban elements for shielding hardened Arab terrorists in an area where innocents also live. They are equally to blame here. Let us not forget that.

Right, so America is dropping bombs on poor innocent villagers who are of no consequence to the war on terror - and we're doing that deliberately...I'm sorry...for what?

Clearly, there are "clerics" in the area who are on the Taliban/Al Qaeda side who are making sure that people are brainwashed into thinking no terrorists were actually killed by the bombs. What they don't know is that when a bomb falls, the terrorists will quickly whisk away the bodies of their beloved brothers, and leave the ones of any who died in collateral damage, making it seem like Americans want all villagers dead.

Friggin people don't have the brains to understand that a superpower gets nothing out of meaningless senseless deaths of innocent people. That's typically not how superpowers work.

Oh wait, thats something they may have learned in civics class if their schools weren't being bombed by the mullahs.
