so hubby’s in the mood for some salmon, so he’s asked me to pick up some pieces from the grocery store.
i’ve never actually made salmon before, so i don’t know the proper way of seasoning it.
any suggestions that you guys might have? i think it’s mostly just olive oil, salt and pepper? or is there something else you would add to the seasoning to make it taste better?
also, how long is it recommended to keep the seasoning on the salmon before you cook it? will a couple of hours be enough, or should it be overnight?
light butter, salt, pepper and a bit of oregano should do. put the seasoning atleast 30 min before (1 hours is better). My wife also add little dried dill and pine nuts when its almost done ...
cook it on high heat and if you have that thick base cast iron pan, thats the best pan to use.
Other than the usual olive oil, salt, and pepper, I also add some garlic (paste), parsley, and some freshly squeezed lemon juice. Marinate for half an hour to an hour, and then grill or bake.
Olive oil, salt and pepper ( lemon juice too sometimes)
Baking it is a healthier option obviously but I think the fried ones taste better. In all honesty, you can fry just about anything and it will taste good ;)
I use a seafood seasoning and salmon seasoning, mix a couple of teaspoons of each together, with some black pepper, paprika, lemon juice and olive oil. Marinate and then bake. Yum!
