Amitabh Bacchan is in big trouble these days from all sides.
After Shatrughan Sinha, director Salim Khan, father of actor Salman Khan has hit out at bollywood’s superstar Amitabh Bachchan. Speaking to a Marathi newspaper, Salim Khan lambasted Amitabh Bachchan, questioning his decisons on several issues. But most personal part of his attack is what can be described as the worst criticism that Amitabh Bachchan has heard in a while.
Salim Khan has gone to the extent of suggesting that Bachchan is considered intelligent only because of his ability to speak English well.
Lashing out at Amitabh Bachchan for the advertisement that he did for Uttar Pradesh, Salim Khan said, “‘UP me dam..kyunki yahan zurm he kam’ - I want to ask Mr Bachachan whether the crime rate in UP is low or is it on a all time high?”
Responding to Salim Khan’s critisism, Amitabh Bachchan said, “I was not paid for the ad. I did the ad and the facts were given by the central government.”
Questioning Bachchan on the land issue, Salim Khan said that if Bachchan does not own the land in UP, how can he donate it.
Salim Khan, who has co-scripted Amitabh’s hits like Zanjeer, Deewaar and Sholay seemed to be crossed with the Bachchan for not inviting him on his son, Abhishekh’s wedding. “In troubled times, Bachchan expects support from everyone but he forgets to invite people close to him on happy occassions.”
“I don’t know who gives him such foolish advices,” he added.
A remark to which, Big B has responded saying he is scared to open the newspapers everyday, not knowing what could be printed against him.
Sixty-five years old Amitabh Bachchan was recently under the attack by actor turned politician Shatrughan Sinha who accused him of bias towards the Bachchan Parivar in the IIFA awards. Director Anurag Basu had also taken on Amitabh Bachchan suggesting that it was time Big B retires.
