he never drove brian away nor did he have a fight with Ali. And he is not deceiving people, people know that Ali is no more part of Junoon. Actually he has been pretty decent about it and it was Ali who went around whinning, etc. Anyway, knowing that this forum is filled with aniti-salman sentiments, I wouldn't agure....
His singing wasn't the best siging but he has come a long way and he is doing great at it.
Happy Salman Bashing!
Ofcourse he drove away the two members of the greatest band ever. And yes he sounds horrible, and YES people are fooled into seeing junoon when all they get to see is the guitarist trying to sing!
it was his band. he had every right to kick brian’s butt and play tabla on ali’s tind. who are we to criticize him. however, ali is doing pretty well. brian is dating the bottle i guess. and salman is trying to sing with a mouth that was never meant to do that to begin with. :halo:
Magar yaar, I don't think its right to decieve unsuspecting people (lets say white folks) by telling them Junoon is the U2 reflection, Junoon is this junoon is that...and then all that appears is a guitarist that tries to sing. Its false advertisement and he can seriously get sued for that stuff here in the states at the very least.
Salman Ahmed - Lead Guitarist, Composer
Ali Azmat - Vocalist, Composer
Brian O'Connel - Bassist, Back Vocals
with only salman ahmed left, its not the junoon we grew up listening to. sound, music, attitude and above all lyrics, it just doesn't sit well with junoon's image. no doubt salman ahmed is a great guitarist and composer but his prime is a thing of the past and thats a natural thing for every1. but to start singing is a bit stretching it if nothing else. i admire the guy for bringing a new genre of music into pakistan but lets not forget the contributions of ali azmat and brian. junoon is just not junooni enough without these two and look at the success of ali azmat. his album social circus was a HUGE HIT. he won awards. now will compose songs for bolloywood and even read somewhere that carlos santana is interested in working with him/releasing his 2nd album world wide through his own private record company. the only reason why ali is hitting big is because his ideas are fresh and go well with main stream. all thats left for SA is TV appearances for controversial issues or for UN. he is a spent force.
I agree--I don't think Salman can sing. He has the guitar volume too loud when I saw him perform--and I think it's to cover up for the bad voice.
Interesting tidbit--he's related to the family that started the "Muslims for Bush" organization/website/etc.
I think that could help give an indication where his intelligence and lack thereof comes from...
and the people in your family are all nobel prize winners, CEOs and world leaders right.
what a cheap shot. how would you like to be gauged based on what someone in your family did or does?
its a moronic tidbid and a cheap shot. dislike his music, oppose his political views or approach, but why stoop so low to make your point?
