Ambassador Salman
The United Nations have appointed Salman Ahmad of Junoon to be an Ambassador in the public health awareness campaign against HIV.
The honour was bestowed on the guitarist and singer songwriter in a ceremony on June 11th in Islamabad.
Other Ambassadors in the campaign around the world include former South Africa President Nelson Mandela, Latin sensation Ricky Martin, golf master Tiger Woods and top footballer Ronaldo.
Junoon are no strangers to the UN, they have been given accolades for their achievements towards peace in South Asia, as well as being invited to perform at the UN’s ‘Music For Peace’ concert in Paris with Lionel Richie.
