It is not so true and people are not much afraid . There is a hate for Taliban also . We can still defeat them but we are in crises of having wise people no where . Our Chacha Mama system has promoted only nonsense . This all is developed by our intermediate pass intellectuals and still they wish to control . There is a need of new social , political and regional agreement before or after elections .
The people calling themselves punjabi taleban (313 brigade of alqaeda) are the most dangerous ones, and it seems even the army is afraid to confront them as almost all the high profile attacks on military facilities have been carried out by them. Secondly a bulk of them have at some stage been trained by the army itself, therefore maybe they know about the internal working is the army too.
I agree with safi that some educated people from cities are joining their ranks, they are actively participating in social media to cause confusions as they thrive on that. The other day I was chatting with some of these guys on their Facebook page fans of TTP and one guy who was responding to me had chakwal in his city of residence and he has remained a student of Punjab university which is shocking and a new trend.
^ it is not a new trend, if history is any guide always the handlers of these scumbags are well educated & people with brain at right place but filled with hatred.

Taliban & Al-Qaeda have very powerful and advance propaganda war going on, they are mostly getting new recruits from social media & educational institutes, even i heard about some activities going on LUMS campus.
