Can someone please tell me the proper way to do this, and any specific time please.
Also can it used for any sort of want/need?

Its all up to you that how much time you can pray.. there is no limitation i guess. but i think you should reciete "Ayat-e-Kareema" for your hajat. i just know it baki WaAllah-ul-Ilm.
Do Astagfar and reciete darood Shareef also.

Alvena yes you can pray it for a need. You need to do neeyat of this namaaz n after the namaaz say the duaa given in the link and ask for your need.

Kinz.. DuaG is right. its upto you how much you can say. I would say it almost with every prayer, or specially with Fajar and Isha prayers.

Yes kinzz i heard that one tasbeeh (100 times) after each prayer is good. You can recit Astagfar like Zikar, because Allah like His Banda who alwys seek His forgivness. Inshallah Allah will fullfill your Hajat. You are in my prayers too.

This reminds me there was once a guy in our street, me and my family knew him very well. once called me for something n then started calling like every other day. Once he said he has a wish which he wants to come true really badly. Then asked me to pray for him that he is successful. Me the great lady, started praying for him. thought may be he is really in need of something. Later on he proposed to me and i was shocked. I said i am sorry but i never talked to u with these intentions. He said that means you have not been praying for me. I said no i really did… he said if u did then may be they are not answered as that was my wish to make you my life partner … 
You must have replied that may be it was not good on my part and my Lord must have planned something which is more better.
