Salah---Comfort!!

“When the world pushes you to your knees, you’re in a perfect position to pray.” And that is true- when you experience difficulty, turning to Salah is the ultimate solace and relief for the believer. Salah is our lifeline- the connection to Our Creator that gives us the strength to move forward when this world and its pains are holding us back.
But what about during good times? What about when the world is on your side, when things are working in your favor? Do you turn to Salah then? Do you share your joys with Allah just as you share with Him your struggles? Do you tell Allah what excites you just as much as you tell him your burdens? Do you thank Him for the triumphs- no matter how little- that you experience every day, the ones that occur only out of His Mercy and Grace?
Prayer relieves pain, alleviates suffering, and is the ultimate remedy for adversity. Every time we cry out to our Lord during physical, emotional, and spiritual frustration, we strengthen our relationship with the One we count on every single day to push us forward when it seems we can’t go any further.
But just the same, just as you call a friend to share good news, glad tidings, and happiness, never forget that you can- and should- talk to Allah with that same vigor and excitement. Rejuvenate your relationship with Allah by making Him your best friend: the first One you turn to when there’s a little extra light in your day, or even just a glimmer of hope you hadn’t seen before.
Salah doesn’t have to be the place you only go to vent, complain to your Lord, and ask for help. It can be, but it can also be much more than that. Optimize these five times a day you stand before your Creator. Today, stand before Him with a smile. And after thanking Him for the ability to even stand before Him, tell Him about something great that happened to you today.
And as you do this, day by day, watch your prayer- and ultimately, your life- transform because of it.
