I LOVE to make really pretty salads. The best way that I like to make it is to mix different types of lettuce, maybe add spinach too. Then add chopped tomatoes, cucumber, purple onion, carrots (some chopped, some shredded), black olives, green olives stuffed with pimentos (sometimes). Make it look perfect and pretty. Maybe add some tiny cubes of cheddar or other type of cheese, sprinkle parmesan and pepper over the top.
I dont put dressings on my salads, I put those out separately so people can choose what they like. My favorites are thousand island (basically ketchup/mayonaise mixture) and peppercorn ranch. Balsamic vinegar and olive oil are always popular too.

i love salads... I normally get my dressings from the store...I love salads with nuts, sunflower seeds, and cranberries so I use them quite often in my salad. These days I am using a lettuce mix, add some chopped tomatoes, chopped pecans, cranberries, chopped cucumber, some shredded carrots and honey mustard dressing on the top.
I like variety of ingredients in my salad. Spinach, lettuce, tomatoes (a must), boiled potatoes, carrots, bell peppers, beets, diced hard-boiled egg, kidney beans or **chick peas, small cubes of cheese **or grated cheese. And for crunch I either croutons, sunflower seeds, pine-nuts, pecans/walnuts. Sometimes I add boiled pasta for texture. I like to season my salad with salt/pepper/lemon/olive oil before putting on the dressing.
For dressings, i like the creamy variety better such as creamy italian, ranch, blue cheese, thousand islands, french, or a mayonnaise based dressing. I want to one day try making chicken waldorf salad which contains chicken, savory vegetables, as well as fruit in a mayo based dressing.

Here's a really simple salad dressing: Mix olive oil and lemmon pepper in a bowl of mixed lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, carrots, red radishes, etc...

Avocado is a must for summer salads! SO yum! I like my dressings really simple, pepper, extra virgin olive oil and fresh lemon juice all the way.

You can also combine mayo, yogurt, vinegar (or lemon juice), salt, pepper, and minced garlic.....for a salad dressing.
i love making salads..these days the way i am making it is like...iceburg lettuce,red cabbage,green cabbage,green olives with pimentos,grilled chicken,cheese and garlic croutons,cucumber,carrots...
for the dressing i use either italian or ranch or nando's peri peri medium hot sauce...

OK, u gotta know the traditional french vinaigrette salad dressing? 1 spoon vinegar, 3 spoons oil, salt n pepper.
As i am not french, i prefer 3 spoons vinegar, 1 spoon oil, LOTS of salt, some pepper.
I add some garlic powder and lemon juice to oil n little vinegar with salt, its nice.
Fresh flat leaf parsley is nice in salads. Apples n celery goes well too.

can someone tell me canned tuna ki smell kasiay khatum ki jasukti hai? i want to add it to my salad but its smell...arghhhhhhhhh...:(

^ Rinse it out in a strainer and add lemon juice n chilli sauce with black pepper, maybe? If its very strong then add garlic too.
