Irem, i bumped up an older thread for you, it’s by CocoNut. Check that out. i am not certain if the process is accurate but if CocoNut reads your thread regarding this topic, i’m sure he will post his comments and provide a reference for the procedure.

i have an idea for you. Get off the comp, pray 2 nafl right now, but before that recite Ayat ul Kursi in your heart until you feel some sakoon in your heart. If that doesn’t work, come back and i will suggest something else.

I think salat ul hajaat is just simply two nafls …then dua ..no specific complex method…
Rember when app :saw: orderd a sahbi:razi: to pray for hajaat ..He did not prescribed any method … so in my opinion they r just simple 2 rikaats …
Irem, make a niyaah for salatul hajat. read it as two nafils with whats best for you and not what you want. Pray to your hearts content even if you are just in sujood or ruku for hours and then leave it to Him :)
I figure you just do what needs to be done and leave the rest to Him.
The thread that was revived was a bit complicated for me even and I questioned it, still do but there are some dua's in there I will post when I find the book I got em from.

COCONUT thanks…r u suggesting i shouldnt ask Allah swt for what i WANT? :S but in duas rnt u supposed to ask Allah for what u want?
its upto Allah to make it in my behtri or not innit?
BAO ji thanks
Lets say if your kid wants something and asks you, “ma i want a swords like those arabs carry swords”. Would you in his best interest grant your childs wish? or would you do whats better for him?
You can ask what you want but ask for whats good for you ![]()
Apply the same story to yourself ![]()
irem as long as u ask for the personal experience, it reminded me of a Pathan, from Quetta, Masters in Mathematics, Young in his 30's. I met him as he was staying in my near by mosque as was due to leave in Jammat to some African country.
irem u will not believe but the way he was talking i still ........... (cant find proper word may be "raskh ata hai us par" is much better)
He was saying that i pray two rakat of salatul hajjat n i ask Allah and I ALWAYS GET WHAT I ASK FOR, he also gave some examples.
matlab YES there is something special in SalatulHajjat, espacially as someone told me that Tahjjud has some more special feature in it.
COCONUT thanks for the reply but in Allah's case...HE has COMPLETE CONTROL over the future..
a mother cant change what a sword is but ALLAH can change the future and make what i want the best for me hayna?
ALLAH is after all the only one who can answer my prayers and give me what i so badly want then shouldnt i just ask Him for what i want? :(
OPHIOLITES jazakallah for the reply...
somehow i have never believed in special prayers...and neither does my father who himself is a teacher of islamiat...
ALLAH se sachay dil se aap jis tarhaan bhee maango HE is listening then why special prayers with special methods?
Assalam Aleekum
I think this is what I remember too.
take care
Assalamo alaykum,
I recently came across the following fatawa on Salat-ul-Hajah:
Praise be to Allaah.
Salaat al-Haajah is not prescribed in sharee’ah (Ibn ‘Uthaymeen, Fataawaa Noor ‘ala’l-Darb, 1/169). Imaam al-Tirmidhi (may Allaah have mercy on him) narrated a hadeeth about Salaat al-Haajah in his Sunan, but he pointed out that it is da’eef (weak). He said in the chapter on what was reported concerning Salaat al-Haajah: “’Ali ibn ‘Eesaa ibn Yazeed al-Baghdaadi told us, ‘Abd-Allaah ibn Bakr al-Sahmi told us, and ‘Abd-Allaah ibn Muneer told us, from ‘Abd-Allaah ibn Bakr from Faa’id ibn ‘Abd al-Rahmaan from ‘Abd-Allaah ibn Abi Awfaa who said: ‘The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever has any need of something from Allaah or from any of the sons of Aadam, let him do wudoo’ and do it well, and pray two rak’ahs, then let him praise Allaah and send blessings on the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), then let him say: ‘La ilaaha ill-Allaah il-Haleem il-Kareem. Subhaan-Allaahi Rabb il-‘arsh il-‘azeem. Al-hamdu Lillaahi Rabb il-‘Aalameen. As’aluka moojibaat rahmatika wa ‘azaa’im maghfiratika, wa’l-ghaneemata min kulli birrin wa’l-salaamata min kulli ithmin. Laa tada’ li dhanban illaa ghafartahu wa la hamman illaa farrajtahu wa la haajatan hiya laka ridan illa qadaytahaa, yaa arham al-raahimeen (There is no god but Allaah, the Patient, the Most Generous. Glory be to Allaah, the Lord of the Mighty Throne. Praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the Worlds, I ask You for Your mercy and forgiveness, for help to do all good deeds and for protection from all sins. Do not leave for me any sin but You forgive it, any worry but You relieve it, or any need with which You are pleased but You meet it, O Most Merciful of those who show mercy).’”’”
Abu ‘Eesaa (i.e., al-Tirmidhi) said: “This is a ghareeb hadeeth. The fact that Faa’id ibn ‘Abd al-Rahmaan is among the narrators makes the hadeeth very weak. Faa’id is Abu’l-Warqaa’.”
Al-Albaani said: “It is very weak indeed.” Al-Haakim said: “Fabricated ahaadeeth were narrated from Ibn Abi Awfaa.” (Mishkaat al-Masaabeeh, 1/417). This hadeeth was also narrated by Ibn Maajah, may Allaah have mercy on him, in his Sunan, 1/144, also via Faa’id ibn ‘Abd al-Rahmaan. Al-Albaani said, in Da’eef Sunan Ibn Maajah, no. 293: “(It is) very weak.”
On the basis of the above, this prayer is not prescribed in Islam, but if the Muslim is faced with distress, he should pray and make du’aa’ in general (with no restrictions as to a certain number of rak’ahs or a specific du’aa’ that is not proven in sound ahaadeeth, etc.), because Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “And seek help in patience and prayer…” [al-Baqarah 2:45], and because of the hadeeth of Hudhayfah in which he said: “When anything distressed the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), he would pray.” (Reported by Abu Dawood in his Sunan, 1124, and classed as hasan in Saheeh al-Jaami’, 4703).
And Allaah knows best.

jazakallah for replies everyone…
i dont mean any offence to anyone and i think we all have a right to our thoughts ![]()
in my own humble opinion though…i think that if you want to ask Allah for something…just pray…
ofcourse 5 namaz are farz…and apart from that, special nights like shab-e-Qadr that are mentioned in the Quran…
but, for some reason my heart cannot come to terms with the idea of prayers like salaat-e-haajat or istakhara…i can pray them but i really wont be being true to myself…because i dont think you have to follow special formal methods which are not even mentioned in the Quran…to ask for His help…He is always there for always and will help us whenever we ask Him to…
![]()
and i think that speaking to Allah swt your sincerity is necessary
so i think i am going to pass the idea of salaat-e-haajat… ![]()
![]()
and just pray to Allah swt after namaz…
thanks again everyone ![]()
